Capitalism plays a major roll in why we don't shut down the borders. You just won't admit it.
American companies moved overseas... for more profit. This means MORE international business travel. This means MORE imports. This means more contact with outsiders.
Shut this down and what do you get?
People out of work, people on unemployment, people complaining about government overreach. Does that sound remotely familiar?
What YOU really want is to close the Southern border so, say it!
WHY isn't Texas doing more to curb immigration?
You would think that "sane" people, seeing an influx of "infected" people coming into THEIR state would do what is necessary to prevent spreading the virus... like vaccination and wearing masks.
Telling people in The Attic what should be done is getting you "where"?

Unfortunately the same holds true with nonessential interstate travel.
As a country we will NOT be able to slow the spread of the Coronavirus without curbing both nonessential international and domestic travel.
Every state in the country is back in the red with increasingly higher transmission rates. Mask mandates have gone back into place BECAUSE people refuse to stay home, or limit their necessary travel to within a short radius of home.
Personally I don't give a damn if people have cabin fever, stay home and stop spreading the virus.
For the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was a Super Spreader event!
I would really like to see an end to this Pandemic!
My parents and grandparents lived through the 1918 Flu Pandemic, my mother was an infant during that Pandemic. They sacrificed for the good of the country.
In this century, there are very few who're willing to make a sacrifice towards ending this Pandemic.
Those who aren't, are nothing more than selfish children.
The anti-vavers and anti-maskers are among those selfish children.
Governor DeSantis just had FL State Supreme Court throw out his anti-masking mandate as Unconstitutional.
The State of Texas can't do much against Federal immigration laws and policies, but yes, they could do a whole lot more about getting everyone in their state vaccinated, as well as those entering their state from any and all directions.
Most businesses found that they could operate just fine using Skype, Teams, or FaceTime last year, in most cases international and domestic travel is unnecessary for business purposes. Many businesses still have severe limits on travel for their employees.
