I continuously tell my wife, "Please do not assume that I don't know what I'm doing. I have everything misplaced exactly where I can find it and everything is in a well regulated and systematic state of confusion."

Besides, a clean desk is the sign of a sick mind.

All in with you on your approach!

'08 Vette Coupe. Can't frive any ore (vision), so it is now in opossesion of my s-i-l on the coast of NC. Wife's knees not conducive to ingress/egress of a Vette.

It's not a condition; it's the work system. My desk is the same way. Every so often, I take everything off the desk and put it into a cardboard box. (Amazon sends them to me for free almost every day.) My plan is always to reorganize all the wiring and USB hubs, etc. The reality is that I accumulate boxes full of stuff.

With you Jetty. I have spent my life collecting stuff, I sure as hell don't intend to throw it all away just because it might look a little (!) messy. And, messy is beauty to a pack rat!

We share a desk. That's the only way mine can stay neat.

My wife uses the dining room table. We never eat there and it's about three times the size of my desk (a door with legs). With two monitors, there is no view of the wall behind my desk. My piling system is mostly on the left and under and behind the monitors. Computer is on the floor. I use a trackball because there's no free space to swing a mouse.

The DR table is covered with paper, but she uses a laptop and no peripherals.

Tks Farmer. Reading all the posts so far, I'm picking cotton amidst a bunch of friendly pickers!

Wonder if any of our Lady Hoggers would like to jump in on this.

Darn you keep a relatively neat desk. Her's has almost as much stuff, just different stuff and organized differently.

And just how many flashlights do you need in case of a power failure. Or have those been there a few months waiting for you to replace the batteries?

Sorry you had to give up your toy. I bet it was a heck of a ride.

No one needs anything like a Vette, but they surely are fun. My s-i-l was ecstatic when I offered it up, for a song practically.

I have multiple lights also:
1. 4D cell cop's flash light from when I did industrial security weekends and summers
2. one of those ultra bright focusing LED flashlights
3. a pen light in my shirt pocket
4. a smart phone with flashlight I have never turned on, but I have it in my pocket all the time

I have a friend who is sorta a collector of these things. He has gifted me a couple of the high-intensity types, sorta as a joke, so I started adding to my gifted collection. It has now become a sorta game btw us. I have two or three that are very powerfully beamed. All for fun.
