This house is located along the Rogue River just east of Gold Hill Oregon. It probably dates to the period just after the Indian wars and the gold rush in Southern Oregon, however it is not listed as an historical site and I can't verify it's provenance.
It made me look up the history of Southern Oregon as a relatively recent (2012) resident of the area. I found this:
https://www.oregonhistoryproject.org/narratives/oregon-folklife-our-living-traditions/folklife-in-oregon/southern-oregon/#.YR-PyC1HahAIt is a wonderful photograph.
Also we have Bummer Creek running through our property and rumor has it that it got its name from the lack of gold found in the creek bed.
Nice photo of an interesting old house. Enjoyed. I’ll bet that it would look good in black and white, too.

Fine photo, and interesting house. The flag suggests someone is at least keeping an eye on it.
I cannot find the flag I must be losing my vision

On the top of the left most vertical porch post.
Beautiful photograph of what looks to be a lovely home at one time.
I wonder how much it would cost to restore the house to its former beauty and usefulness; maybe a couple of hundred dollars for some paint…

Send a copy to Norm Abram, and see if he's looking for a new project.

Now I see it I guess it was just too early in the morning for me and some of you folks out there noticed the smallest of details thanks again long shadow.

Nice shot, Hobie, but I would liked to have seen the whole length of the house.
It is evident that it was a nice place to live at one time. I really like the wrap around 2nd floor porch and baluster. I think this one is beyond any of the HGTV restoration personalities interest to tackle. It’s a tear-down for sure. Sad.

These old houses and barns are treasures! I always get bummed when I come by a known site where one was located and it’s been razed. Your image is a great example! Thanks for sharing….
What a marvelous find. I think I'd keep an eye on it. What a great fixer-upper it would be!

It definitely needs some minor repair work. Nice documentary photo.

Some Elmer's, a few staples, a little paint, and...
This could have been a good setting for Green Acres.
