You don't need a new camera to succeed just good skills with the one you have!

I ruled out "need" years ago.
Fortunate, for many of us, “need” is a relative term that we can freely escalate or interpret.
Anyone can spend time learning and practicing, the newest equipment is limited to a select few.

A new camera is like any innovative Black & Decker DIY tool that you didn’t know you needed until it became yours.
Watch out for the A7iv! 😑

I've been watching camera reviews and comparisons on YouTube, and I have to be careful. The new cameras sound so good! I especially like comparisons because they point out specific differences between two cameras. So far, I have resisted the urge to buy anything. I still use my D750, Sony a6000, and Fuji X-T30. So far, so good. Unless I find a good excuse to buy something new, I think I'll be safe.
Well, at least you'll be informed when you DO decide to buy. That's one of the advantages of window shopping.
I love YouTube reviews because we can watch a bunch of them about the same item, and distill the consensus opinions about it. DPReview is also a favorite source.
Hi,
I don't look for excuses no longer. I recognise that technology will not do me a better photographer, but perhaps it will help a little bit in some aspects.
I was very happy with my D750 (which I still have), but decided to jump to the mirrorless world (R5). No excuses this time: I just wanted it, and could afford it.
By the way, I also treated me to a new car (in this case yes, a change was needed): a Cayenne coupé (this specific car was not really needed, though) . If we cannot enjoy life at least after a certain age; for what is it good the money earned during years?
Regards,
Miquel

Jerry,
I always respect your research and opinion. After your comparisons which camera would you want buy. I will be 80 next year and “need” a new camera!

Perhaps I am just dense, but I don't understand what wanting a new camera has to do with the desire to succeed?
Jerry there are 4 pages of suggestions. The suspense is building! Please tell the crowd what do you plan to do??
Hey Jerry, think about this; Fujiflim medium format with len(s) of your choice, mortage rates at a historic all time low!
How about a new Ford 150 E

Couldn’t agree more. My heirs can figure out what to do with the Jaguar roadster after I’m gone. Maybe I’ll buy a coupe and compound the issue. I already have a full-frame, crop-frame, mirror less and super zoom - there must be something I’m lacking?
As long as you've got 3 meals and a roof over your head keep enjoying the essence of life--photography!!
Will you even recognize the person you were before you upgraded?
