I saw this the other day and thought to myself, what a beautiful photograph it would make. Of course it is simplistic in style, just as the very first time it flew. Yet it is one of the most recognized items across the globe today. I invite others to submit their photographs of the same item for all of us to see and appreciate.

Please let this post not go to The Attic.

God Bless America!!!

That is a fine image indeed!

Beautiful and patriotic, Dennis. If this is controversial, I will go to the attic with it.

Thank you very much Mike. I would go anywhere for this flag but hopefully this post will not go to The Attic. Every American should be proud of this flag. If not then they should have enough common respect for others to allow us to enjoy photographs like this. There should be no negatives from anyone. Hopefully there will not be.

Speaking personally I get a tear in my eye and get choked up when I see this flag no matter where or when. I know others who feel the very same way.

Thank you very much Mike. I would go anywhere for... (show quote)

Lovely, thanks.
It’s a grand old flag….

Yes sir it sure is, its beauty constantly refreshed by the blood of those who have died to protect it and to spread freedom not only in America but across the globe. I love your photo. Thank you for posting it.

Do you mind if I keep a copy?

Chief, thank you for your service in protecting us for those 20 years. I would say you have definitely earned a copy of that photograph to do with as you choose. I only spent 4 years in the USMC but then did other things to protect citizens right here at home. About 34 years of my life in the service of protecting America and Americans.

While on the subject allow me to thank every service member and every first responder type of person, police, fire, ambulance etc. who has worked tirelessly in those professions to serve and protect the rest of us.

Fortunately I avoided any bullets. My twin brother, also a USMC door gunner in Vietnam was not so lucky. He earned his Purple Heart when a bullet fragmented after hitting his gun and filled his eyes with shrapnel. Thank you for your service.

As the overpriced T-shirt says: I may not be perfect but I have a DD-214 and that is close enough for an old man.

People in other countries don't understand why we get so emotional over our flag. I think its because it's not a person, or place, or thing. It's an idea, a concept , not anything anyone said we had to do.
The idea of freedom brings us together. Whether that holds true for all citizens... it doesn't always, but I think we're working on it.
Want to see flags? Drive thru Texas, and the rest of the midwest.

Well said. Check out Wyoming, Idaho, parts of Colorado and Arizona too for a number of flags presented by We the People. But having said that, every state has people living there who are incredibly proud to fly the flag.

My brother in Colorado just sent me a couple of photographs of a flag pole his son put up in my brother's yard, complete with night lights.

I think it is a beautiful image too. It is a good thing and a correct thing to be patriotic and to defend your country and fly your flag high. I feel the same about our Union Jack here in the UK.

The day that a photo like this is controversial means that our country has gone to hell!
