Well said. Check out Wyoming, Idaho, parts of Colorado and Arizona too for a number of flags presented by We the People. But having said that, every state has people living there who are incredibly proud to fly the flag.

My brother in Colorado just sent me a couple of photographs of a flag pole his son put up in my brother's yard, complete with night lights.

I saw this the other day and thought to myself, what a beautiful photograph it would make. Of course it is simplistic in style, just as the very first time it flew. Yet it is one of the most recognized items across the globe today. I invite others to submit their photographs of the same item for all of us to see and appreciate.

I love Old Glory. Thanks for allowing us to post ours.

I am pretty sure I have posted this recently. This is on a 1 lane dirt road, 6 miles long, leading deep into the woods. A clearing with a friend's home sits in a big opening at the end of it. A flag is a is placed on a tree at every mile. If you were to meet a car half way, someone would have to back up for 3 miles.

Thank you very much for posting the picture of the flag and relating the story of your friend. Not only do I want to allow others to share their flags but I whole heartedly encourage them to do so. Your post brought a tear to my eye, one of many when I see the flag of America flying proudly. Perhaps my soft heart comes from seeing people die for that flag, for what it represents to the rest of the world. For many it represents freedoms that are only available in America, freedoms we have endured for centuries. For others it represents the mightiest country on the planet. For whatever our flag is well respected by other nations.

Semper Fi

Semper Fi right back at you and of course to any other Marine on UHH. We are all family. I see that almost every day when I am wearing a USMC T shirt and I approach someone that is doing the same. We end as life long family members even if it is only a relative of a Marine. We are still family.

May God continue to bless the United States Marine Corps and may He continue to bless this great country of ours, America.
