I needed a back-up battery for my Nikon Coolpix A1000. Nikon's EN-EL12 battery has been on backorder for months and Nikon can't provide any information as to when they will be back in stock. In desperation I ordered an Everyready battery but that wouldn't take a charge. Based on favorable comments from Hoggers, I then ordered a Wasabi. After fully charging it, I took it for a test drive. After just 48 snaps, it was completely discharged. B&H carries two other brands: Jupio and Watson. Adaroma carries Green Extreme and Power 2000, as well as Jupio. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?
never had a issue with any rechargeable battery. eveready is a known brand , even for cars .
Have Wasabi, Watson, Power 2000 and recently Kastar. Haven't had the Kastar very long, but it seems fine, Wasabi and Watson have performed as well as OEM.
Never used Eveready rechargeables, but I have some Wasabi batteries for a Lumix camera and they seem to work about as well as the OEM branded ones. I'd guess you got a bad sample.
Maybe the problem is with your charger?

Hi! I have many batteries. Sony cameras, Fuji lately. Wasabi has been my go to 3rd party batteries.
Maybe the trouble isn't the battery. I must have 30-50 wasabi batteries never trouble with any.
Good luck.T
It charges the Nikon battery fine.

How long they think you can get a Nikon battery? It's a serious problem if you have difficulty getting original battery.

Try KEH or MBP. Look for used.

I disagree with ggenova64. NEVER buy used batteries!
I've used generic batteries in everything for years - never a problem. Of course, you do have to put up with a lower price if your credit card gives rebates.

I have not used Eveready dedicated batteries, but have used a variety of their common-size rechargeable cells, primarily NiMH. I have never gotten good service from them unless I charged them on the Eveready charger intended for them. Sometimes they will not charge at all on other chargers. Their internal design and internal resistance seems to be completely different from other batteries. They also get much hotter when charging, which will confuse some chargers.

I have had similar problems with several non-OEM batteries.
I believe you may have incompatibility between the charger and batteries.
Check if Everedy states that it is compatibile with Nikon charger. Customer Service may have answer.
Good luck.
