I had the opportunity last week to practice some low light shots in Glasgow. The first night I was disappointed at first to discover that the breeze was spoiling the mirror like reflection that had been on the river the previous night (when I didn't have my camera!) However I quite like the shots that I ended up taking. 2 nights later the weather was completely calm and you can see the results. The only pp I have done is a bit of straightening/sharpening and white balance adjustment. The reflections are pretty much exactly as they looked on the night. The other shots were taken on Glasgow Green, one of the most ancient public parks in Scotland and part of the original settlement which was known as Glaschu (Gaelic meaning Dear Green Place) which later became 'Glasgow' and show Lord Nelson's Obelisk, erected in 1806, a year after the Battle Of Trafalgar and also the McLennan Arch, which originally formed the entrance to the 18th century assembly rooms but was moved in 1922 to form the entrance to the Green. C & c always gratefully received.

Thanks for looking and commenting. London is a great city for photography, even though I go regularly I never seem to take my camera though! Glasgow has so much to shoot within the city and the parks as well. A never ending supply of great subject matter!

Thank you redford. All shots were taken with my Canon 550d mounted on a tripod and just using a 18 - 55mm kit lens on manual exposure and focus modes. Some were taken using the 'bulb' shutter setting and I just experimented with different timings to see what the results would be. They were all shot in RAW format and then I adjusted the white balance in post processing as they had originally come out a bit 'orange' for my liking due to the large amount of sodium lighting in the area. I played around with the ISO settings to see what different effects it would give and to allow me a faster shutter speed and ended up with about 60 shots in all.
