For rational people, yes!

Too bad the shots of the Z9 were only of the rear of the camera. There are lots of buttons and dials including two AF-ON buttons. It looks like the second one is for holding the camera in the vertical position, possibly for BBF.
As an aside from our PM discussion...I read the results of my lower back x-ray from yesterday and it looks like bone spurs on my spine. I'll have to wait until the 12th when I talk to my primary to see if surgery is recommended. But, at least I know what's causing my lower back pain.

I am sure that Fuji, Panasonic, Olympus, and others have their prototype cameras there too. It is not a surprise that Sony and Canon are the major cameras there. All Associated Press staff photographers shoot Sony and there are more top end long lenses out in the world by Canon than any other brand.
I still remember hearing about a Canon lens that was at one of the past Olympics. It was in the 2000mm range, about 25 to 30 pounds, I forget how may feet long (3 or 4 feet?), 18 month lead time to get one, and about $95K of those time dollars. How the times have changed! Now one can buy a
zoom that goes to 2000mm view, weights less than 4.5 pounds with teleconverter, barely over a foot long, and cost less than $8K. Still takes a long time to get one.
As things change, what we will see at events and other places will change again and again. Sony always said it wanted to be #1. I guess its being the preferred camera now by all Associated Press staff photographers has helped Sony become one of the preferred cameras for the Olympics. And it does belong there being a top camera.
I had surgery for misaligned disks about 7 years ago. At 72 years old, I can still easily run my 6 miles with no back pain. Just be sure to pick one of the best neurologist in your area for the surgery. Getting rid of my back pain was a blessing. Good luck with your back.

It is definitely one of the more important things to discuss. The photographer aspect, that stands right behind the gear and equipment, is the other important one.
But gear and equipment seem to be the easier items to discuss.
On one of the photos, a 400mm was present. I assume that means a Z 100-400mm lens was also there getting a workout.

@flip - please be careful with the ibuprofen. A friend of mine developed a stomach bleed (from ibuprofen) that almost took his life. Good luck with the dr.
Second that. If you're on coumadin *do not* use ibuprofen/Advil or sodium naproxen/Aleeve . Bleedout is possible. Check with physician first.
(Sorry to extend the hijack, but this is important)

The twitter poster photolari posted two more pictures of a Z9 with a 180-400mm zoom. I believe that is an F mount lens (at $12000+) so I would assume an FTZ adapter was being used, although not visible in the photo.

Thanks, but I don't currently use blood thinners and just take the one 800mg tablet per day. I will be discussing the pain relievers with my primary when I talk to him on the 12th.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes.
"...I don't currently use blood thinners..." Flip ibuprofen (Advil) is considered a blood thinner... While not an anticoagulant it is an antiplatelet drug.
Other antiplatelets include: ASA, also called acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Asaphen, Entrophen, Novasen) Clopidogrel (Plavix) Prasugrel (Effient) Ticagrelor (Brilinta).
"Ibuprofen inhibited platelet aggregation at recommended doses, but did not compromise aPTT or coagulation profile until at 16 times the recommended doses and higher."
Thus Ibuprofen is not considered an anticoagulant like Warfarin (Note: coumadin is no longer produced) it's generic is Warfarin and has been used for over 60 years...
Other anticoagulant are Eliquis (Apixaban); Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)... etc.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is considered as a pain management agent albeit is not a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen.
Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is not known to affect kidney function and is a very safe drug when taken as directed, even for people with liver disease.
