I use the Optech pro strap , I like that I can use the quick release clips to remove the shoulder part of the strap and re buckle them to make it a shorter hand strap. I twist it once around my wrist and grab my d700 by its grip, makes for a good fit.

I also use the OpTech Sling..........I like the fact that it hangs from the strap lugs on the camera, and leaves the tripod mount free for it's intended use.

I recently got the Canon SX50, and desperately need to change the strap. The strap completely interferes with the flip out screen. Has anyone ever used the Black Rapid RS4? It's around $50, so I didn't want to waste that much money if it wasn't any good. Anybody use that strap or one similar, or could recommend something else?

OP/Tech has proven good for my cameras. I have different colors so I can tell the cameras apart quickly. For example, my D70 infrared has a red strap.

You made it back. Dry, I hope.

Good idea, the different colors. No not need to differentiate by film type loaded anymore.

I have as many straps as unused camera bags. Occasionally use them. Always buy the ones with quick release buckles. Either way, even wrist straps, they seem to get in the way. If you're blind, use braile to identify which camera the strap is attached to.

Best camera would be a cranial implant with a 10 - 500 mm lens. No batteries. Powered by your cardiovascular system - providing you're heart healthy.

Caveat:

Whatever strap you are thinking of getting, make sure you do not let your camera hang with a strap and the lens is hanging/dangling from the camera -- especially true in larger or longer lenses
-- Nikon told me not to use as possible damage to the part of camera where lens connects ( lens mount ).

I love that style strap with swivel ends. That is what I need. I also like the colors & aged look. My strap always is in my way. Thanks for posting.

I bought a Black Rapid strap & while convenient, it's way overpriced...I rarely ever use mine. I guess I should sell it...

I use the Black Rapid #RS4, best thing since "slice bread" camera is out of the way when not needed, and not bouncing on your chest and pulling on your neck always safely with you, ready to shoot.

If it didn't cost so much, I'd like this instead of straps....Buddy of mine has one & was using it at an air show we attended...

Good products generally do command more money. That's one of the principals of business. Besides, the higher the quality of the material that goes into the product, the more they have to charge for the product to make a profit.

I have two Canon caeras and do not ike to loudly advertise the cameras I am carrying to all who might have ill intentions, besides the kit straps are not all that comfortable. Therefore, I bought, for $35 each, two Crumpler (www.crumpler.com)camera straps. They are designed ergonomically to fit around the neck and are padded so as to make cvarrying the camera more comfortable. I bought two different colors so I can tell which camera model is which at a glance. I highly recommend you give these straps some consideration.
