Sorry if this has been posted before, but I have several lightly used camera kits and was wondering if any of you have experience with reputable camera shops that buy used cameras. Thank you.

Well, KEH buys equipment but you ain't never gonna get enough to make it worthwhile. I have a ton of used cameras etc that I picked up back when people were giving them to, here in Utah, Deseret Industries Stores. I don't intend to sell any of them. They are in a glass display case in my home office. I enjoy looking at them and sometimes I take one out and handle it for a while. Get a display case and begin a collection.

You may want to check prices on Used Photo Pro. The company is part of Roberts Camera in Indianapolis. They are a reputable company. They paid the highest price for a Canon film camera and 3D camera by about 15 percent.

Haven't sold anything lately on Ebay and I guess I won't be selling on Ebay. Buying may be as something isn't available anywhere.

Except you might get a better price by removing the middle man.
I am surprised that there has been no mention of POTN, Photography on the Net. Pretty good site with very good people to buy and sell to.
There are on line auction sites where people can bid on things.

I have been on this site for many years. These are the five dealers whose names keep popping up every time someone asks this question. All have great reputations.
You may also try selling your gear here on UHH. (Go to

I would avoid the circus that is CraigsList, and be careful with eBay.
I have successfully sold two iPhones on Craigslist. I met one buyer in the lobby of the local Y and the other buyer at a Wendy's. There are a number of other things that I've sold on Craigslist, like attachments for my Gravely mower, a box of unused Christmas decorations, gun targets, etc.
About a year ago I had a 7 month old sigma lens I posted on UHH and was hounded by a member about I was asking way too much for it. He said he could buy it new if he had a membership card from that dealer and only pay $150.00 more for it. I mentioned that E-Bay had the same lens as mine with scratches for $12.00 less than mine. Anyway I couldn't see giving my equipment away just because he is a fellow hogger so I sold it to Roberts Camera for $23.00 more than I was asking for it on UHH and didn't have to ship it or put up with the headaches. Just my experience with UHH not so good.

I wouldn't waste my time responding to people who want to bargain down the price to an unreasonable amount.

Thanks, it was disappointing but all turned out the better and I learned who to deal with in the future.
I recently sold a Nikon body 5200 to MBP. Better quote than KEH. They gave me a good quote (based on prices I saw on ebay), and honored it. Payment made timely. I recommend them.
