This set is so well done. It also led me to your flicker site of images you have for public viewing. https://www.flickr.com/photos/146935323@N06/

3 notes:
-you are an excellent photographer
-with a really good eye for composition
-and your work is done with middle of the pack aps-c cameras, a Nikon D750, and inexpensive glass.

There is SO much many of us can learn from your work!

Went over to GSMNP in Tennessee a few weeks ago for the start of a series of one-night stops through Highlands, Brevard and then to Biltmore Estate with a friend from Colorado who had never been to WNC. We were hitting the familiar scenery and these (and following posts) are pics from those destinations. This first share is from a late evening drive through Cades Cove.

Very nice images, Diane! I especially like #1 and #2.

I love that part of North Carolina and Tennessee! I’ve visited Cades Cove a few times. My wife and I took a day trip up there in the late 60s with a couple of college friends during the winter after a bit of snow. Saw many deer grazing in the Cove that day. We had an impromptu snowball fight while making the circuit. When we got home I noticed my wedding band was missing. It must’ve slipped off my finger while making or throwing a snow ball. It may still be up there in Cades Cove on the roadside somewhere.

Thank you for the kind words, Stan, and thanks for sharing your memories. Funny you should have lost your ring in the snow. I have a similar story where an angry fiance threw an engagement ring out the window of a moving car. Upon reflection, he went back down the roadside in hopes of finding the ring and, would you believe it, he did?! He found the circle left in the snow where it dropped through. I bet some crow saw your glistening gold ring and carried it up to his stash in a tree somewhere!

I'm at a loss for words, Barry! I merely try to make reasonable representations of what I see in hopes that others might be tempted to visit the same places that have inspired me. I have my share of issues with arriving at correct color and brightness values between an editing monitor that has often been challenging (too bright--finally had to turn it way down so I wouldn't underexpose the edits) and a laptop screen (too washed out). Best case scenario is that everyone else is seeing the images somewhere in the middle, lol. I have to thank Lightroom for allowing me to explore my creative side.

It is a very restorative place to spend some time--away from noise and light pollution. Reminds me of the cove I spent my youth exploring on horseback in the 50's and 60's.

Don't have too many of those, Susan, mostly a few of the waterfalls.
