Sony Question

I am considering buying a Sony a7iii. I currently have the following: Sony a77ii with 16-50mm lens; Tamron 90mm; Tamron 70-200mm; and the Tamron 150-600mm (2). My questions is what adapter would I need to utilize these lens until I can afford to replace them with E mount lens?

You are going from APS-C to full frame, and from A mount to Fe mount. The adapter that will do it all is the LAEA-4. The A7 lll will automatically downsize to APS-C when you use the non- full frame lenses. By the way, you will love the A7 lll, and it’s fast focusing and long lasting battery. You can buy the adapters used and save some money.

If your lenses are motor drive, the LAEA-3 adapter is all you need, and cheaper than the LAEA-4. As has been said, you'll find E mount lenses more satisfactory.

The LAEA-3 is a little cheaper than the 4, but the 4 gives you compatibility with more lenses.
I had a 3, but replaced it with the 4. The 4 is really the more versatile and better adapter.

The answer to your question is the LA-EA4. It works very well, but be aware that this adapter has its own focus system, so you will not get the full advantage of the a7iii. As others have said, you will be happier with FE glass.

Don't buy a Sony. I have two and would get rid of both if I could afford it. You cannot take multiple exposures. You cannot do more things than you can. Get a fuji, lighter in weight and does everything. The focusing both manual and auto is terrible.

The Sony a7iii is a great camera. You need to use the full frame capability. Trade in your old lenses for a Sony lens. I recommend the Sony FE 24-105 f4. It is a fine lens designed to work with the Sony alpha systems and will likely satisfy most of your photo needs. You might consider adapting the 150 - 600 lens you have, but it will be slower than the Sony equivilent if you are using it for wildlife/bird photography. Yes, Sony lenses are somewhat more expensive, but they are well matched for the system and work well. You might consider replacing your four current lenses and buy two Sony lenses as a replacements. It makes it much easier traveling.

If any of your lenses are screwdriver drive the LA-EA4 will work with all of them. If they all have motors in the lens then if go with the LA-EA3 as it'll utilize the AF sensors on the camera rather than those in the adapter (as the LA-EA4 does). The LA-EA5 will also work well with the a7iii if the lenses have motors in them (it has a screwdriver drive in it as well but it only worked with three cameras and the a7iii isn't one of them).

Adapted lenses work with the appropriate adapter but you'll be happier with Sony FE lenses. The Sony FE 200-600mm is a gorgeous long lens.

Fuji does not make such a camera.

Most of his current A-mount lenses are already FF. The odd duck can likely be sold with his A77.
