Im not expert at the in camera thing having just looked it up myself but here are two thoughts if you really want to keep at it.
first make sure your camera is set to take multiple shots...on one click or what you are referring to as BURST. then set it to its bracket setting.

if you cant figure that out...just change the settings manually. Make sure your object is not moving for this experiment. shoot one stop under what you think is right...the right setting and one over...then you will have the three.

I didnt do it right either and decided to do the Art BRACKET setting. There are about a dozen art filters on the cam and if you shoot once in ART BRACKET it just fires em all off so here are three

Wow, looks like I can't play today  I tried to do the bracketing and even Googled the settings to use in my camera and still can't get it to take more than one picture at a time, no 3 pic burst. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Sometimes I forget to hit the "set" button on my Canon 7D after I set the bracketing in the menu and yes, be sure you use high speed continuous.

You can use a tripod for bracketing manually and when using a slower shutter speed.

OK...so it was me...there is more "continuous" settings than the one I was changing...LOL ...so once I figured that out, I stepped out back and just took a picture of a corner of my back yard. Sorry they are not exciting pics but at least I figured out how to shoot in bracketing...now...have to learn how to merge them...LOL...another challenge...LOL

***Thank You Everyone For Your Help!!

I shot it up in manual...tried to merge them with no luck
then I just took the one I thought would look most the way I wanted it and worked it in Windows Live.
