Porsches can become an obsession (a good one), and a 911 is the pinnacle (unless an RS-61 fits into your budget). Congratulations - I hope you keep and enjoy it a long time.

Yea, JC's new car is just absolutely beautiful isn't it ? Just a beautifully designed car. He is a blessed man.

Got a family in our neighborhood has three Miatas. One of them is not street legal to race car he also has a type of race car that looks like a Camaro. The sun has won the short track speed in Sebring three times. He’s a current short track record holder. Holder.

Miatas are really fun to drive but I always consider them Chick cars; somehow men don't seem to fit the car's profile.

A month ago a lady in Lakeland Florida sideswiped me (her fault) totaled my 1999 Boxster (986) Last Sunday I purchased this 911 (991) 2013.

My wife and I absolutely enjoy it.

I find it interesting that no one asked if it was manual or automatic. Perhaps this was assumed as most who "drive" these class of cars [two seater sports cars] particularly the ones mentioned in this thread like to shift?

My boxers manual shift the 911 is automatic. It’s amazing how smooth the PDK shifter is.

When my Miata grows up this what want it to be. Nice car bro.
Bruce.

If your Miata grows up it won't be as much fun. You know what they say, "better to have a slower car that you can drive fast than a big powerful car that you can't drive fast". In regards to this post, I guess I'm jealous. Let's see...a Miata or a 911...a Miata or a 911...hmm, yeah I'd take the 911.
And yes, I own (and love) a Miata, mainly because I couldn't afford a gorgeous 911 and it's upkeep.

The PDKs are getting more and more common now due to the performance they deliver.

OH HELL YEA Popa, I too would love a 911 or a Boxter. They are out of my price range especially since being retired. Miatas ? well first of all you can enjoy the top down. Second of all they are just damn good fun to drive, not a muscle car but a roadster. Just great fun. Mine are the NB 2nd generation, which I think look the best. My 2000 is an automatic tranny. I Neeeeever thought I would get an auto but after getting real with myself, I bought the car for daily driving and general use so it was the most practical and has served me well for years. Two round trips from Texas to Florida, top down, diving along the beach, yea baby.
My 2001 SE Special Edition I got because I wanted the shifter feel and more ? well you know. I has the heavy duty 6 speed manual, posi-trak rear end, these days called LSD. Peppier engine and suspension. Sounds great and fun to drive too. They sure aint Porches but still we regular guys can still have our little toy cars and dream one day they will grow up to be Porches.
Thanks for the nice reply Popa.

Yes I know, I will keep my old Miatas for now. I do not believe I will be buying a new one. A newer PU Truck would be in order for me. I am happy to see your nice post here with your new car. As you can see by the feed back, we are proud and happy for you . You are blessed to have a dream car like this. Feel free to share more pictures of it.

That’s a great idea. Funny, first thing she said after she hit me: “I have insurance”.

Worst insurance I’ve ever seen. Did not even cover my car. LOL.

Also, I had just spent $12k rebuilding the engine. Did not even have 150 miles on the rebuilt engine.

Oh well.,.

I have had three cars declared a total loss. None of the three accidents was my fault. In each instance I lost from $10,000 to $25,000 because the insurance companies find a multitude of ways of reducing the value of your vehicle. In California, where I live, there is no law requiring the insurance to pay for the actual cost to replace a vehicle.
