This snapping turtle came up from the pond, buried her eggs in my wife’s flower garden (my wife’s not too happy) and posed for a portrait before returning to the pond.
Those things are dinosaurs.
Nice shot.

You’re right, tradio. This one is actually small compared to some that come up from the pond every year. They swim up under the baby ducks and pull them under.

Excellent shot John.
Thank you, Jim. Glad you liked it. I can’t move around very well these days so I took this shot from our front porch with a zoom. I think the turtle is faster than me. I’m trying to get our nine year old twin granddaughters interested in photography so I send them fun shots like this. I hope you and your family are all well.
Wow, what a cool shot! I hope your wife doesn't intend to destroy the eggs.

Hi Linda, always so nice to hear from you. My wife was frustrated but we’re both big nature lovers so the eggs are safe. It was really rather funny but I didn’t dare laugh. My wife was in the kitchen window calling out progress reports to me in the den. “She’s turning left.....oh no, there goes another marigold”.
Just so you know, I’ve resumed my food photography and am posting in the new foodie section once every few weeks. I hope all is well with you.
