We are ?!?!?
Been ask, so for those who are curious, I paid $1500 for the Nikon D810.
I also wanted a battery grip but DAMN!, $426.95. Procam was selling off
their inventory of MB-D12 Battery Grips for $175. Needless to say, I bought
one and a spare battery. I called Procam and verified that this was a Genuine
Nikon MB-D12, new in the box, before I placed the order. It was ......... YES!

I’m glad I was not the only one.
I own one for about 6 years now & am very happy with it. Enjoy your new camera.

😂😂
The problem with spell correct is that it doesn’t understand context.

I sold my Nikon D750 and have been eyeing over new camera. I was not interested in a mirrorless camera and while the new Nikon D850 seems to be all the rage as of late, I could not justify spending $2500+, photography is a hobby and I am not a professional. So, I have been bidding my time and finally the deal I was looking for dropped into my lap. The owner of a local camera shop called and informed me he had just acquired a mint condition Nikon D810 with less than 5000 shots in the box. (Actual count is 4738). I went and checked out the camera and you would never know this Nikon D810 was not brand new out of the box. After shooting some photos was amazed. When compared to my Nikon D750, the camera is heaver, shoots quieter, image clarity and color are far superior. I am very happy. The Nikon D810 may not be the Nikon D850 but for me, it is a winner.

Good find and good deal. Sounds like a good upgrade and the D810 is what you really need. 24 to 36MP. That is as high as I would ever want in a FF. There are reasons not to go into the 45-54 range for FF (FX) format.

Congrats on your find. It's good to have a working relationship with a local camera shop. Enjoy!
Wonderful to have a local camera shop, period!
Enjoy your new camera in good health.
Enjoy the D810 and have no concern over the shutter count. I have over 250,000 actuations on mine without a hiccup.
Glad you like the camera. I have been shooting with my D810 for years and I still love it.

I also have and very much enjoy my D810. I purchased both Busch's book on the D810, and the book by "Digital" Darrel Young. Both present the D810 "How to use" information, but in a different but easy to understand way. I erroneously got two D810 MD12 units and will sell you one at a good price. I bought additional batteries (Nikon, 3rd party) cheaply ( about $10 each) on ebay. I am not selling any of them, but having them and an extra MH-25 charger makes the D810 perfect for me. Let me know if you want to buy the MD-12 (size1(at)sbcglobal.net.

He's right! It does pay to have a good working relationship with your camera dealer. I stopped into my regular camera store one day years ago, and the owner's son said, "Michael, I've got just the deal for you!" It was a Hassy 500C/M with the normal 80mm lens, and 50mm wide angle, and tele extender – all in a nice Halliburton case! An older man with money bought it brand new, put one roll of film through it, and decided it was too much camera for him. I got the whole kit for $900! Now that's a buy!

Agreed.
There’s reason not to go there for your normal-use camera. I do keep such a camera for non-normal use, and don’t find it to be a general purpose camera. Kinda big, heavy, and slow. Only use it very occasionally, too specialized. Also makes quite large files. While thaz not really limiting its use, plenty of users don’t want oversized files.
