I have used Canon tech support about five times in the past three years. I, currently have four Canon printers, a pro 100, two PIXMA 9200 series and a second large format photo PRINTER. All , but the 13 x 19 photo printer (can't remember the model #) have required a call to tech support, both in and out of warranty. In warranty; once solved the issue by a remove and reinstall, the second: tech support replaced the printer with a NEW one and instructed me to keep the cartridges from the defective out of the box printer. No charge shipping both directions. Received replacement in two days!
Bottom line, Canon tech support has made me a fan boy of the product. BTW, I do not photo print a lot, but use my two AIO printers about thirty to forty pages daily each. I use OEM ink only, and find costs of ink to be reasonable through Staples' recycling and ink credit program. Mm and the call!

I have this printer for about 3 years now and I started having problems recently as follows:
1. Printer is offline - I have unplugged both power and computer cables several times with no change.
2. Before the offline issue, it will only print about half of the image. I have replaced all cartridges.
3. When I run the "Diagnose and Repair" shows no connection with the printer.
Please advise,
Thank you.

I started having the partial printing of a photo problem with my Canon TS9520. After trying many things and even having Canon replace it the replacement had the same problem. Finally I un-installed my Norton anti-virus and the problem went away. I'm convinced that a recent update to Norton has caused the problem.

Thank you quixdraw,
The articles are related to printer printing incomplete images, thank you
However, the "offline" issue is not addressed.
That's just a question and answer series which never really solves the problem, only a bunch of speculation as to what the problem might be.

When I have this “offline” issue with my HP printer, I restart my modem/router. It re-establishes the connection and works for me. Try it.
Bet fix: Call Canon (800) 652-2666
It always worked for me!

Thank you. I will try that.
I had the same problem about a year ago. Was on the phone with Canon for hours. Couldn't resolve it. Printer for no apparent reason would go off-line. They told me to contact my ISP. I read blog from a fellow in India complaining about the same thing. He mentioned that his ISP was set up for a "floating" IP address. It's where it searches for the best signal. I have Optimum, went into my account and saw that mine was set up like that also. I changed it to a fixed IP address. Never had the problem again.

Thank you Amadeus,
Where can I find my ISP? I use Windows 10
ISP is your Internet provider. Whoever is supplying you with your internet service.

The printer is USB connected according to the OP, so the issue has nothing to do with the ISP, WiFi connection or IP address.
To the OP: have you tried the 4 steps I listed on page 1?
TriX wrote:
1) Unplug the USB cable and replug directly into the computer (no hub). Does the computer make the “new USB connected” sound and recognize the new USB connection? if not, try a different USB cable and a different port if the computer has more than one.
2) if so, right right click on the start button, go to settings, devices and look at printers. Does the printer show up? If so, open the print queue and print a test page. Does it show up in the queue? If so does it actually print? And this is KEY - is the printer set as the default printer? If not, set it as the default and try again. Does it print now?
3) if not, run the printer diagnostics. Does it find (and repair) any issue?
4) try to print again. If it still doesn’t print, uninstall the printer, reinstall using the printer’s installation SW and go back to #1

Yes, I did. The problem is that the computer does not recognize the printer, so the diagnostic does not work. It continues to show the printer is offline. Will call Canon tomorrow. Thank you for your suggestions.

And what were the results of the test? Does it show up in settings/devices/printers, and is it set as the default printer?

Did you restart the modem, as I suggested?
