I have this printer for about 3 years now and I started having problems recently as follows:

1. Printer is offline - I have unplugged both power and computer cables several times with no change.

2. Before the offline issue, it will only print about half of the image. I have replaced all cartridges.

3. When I run the "Diagnose and Repair" shows no connection with the printer.

Please advise,

Thank you.

Thank you quixdraw,
The articles are related to printer printing incomplete images, thank you
However, the "offline" issue is not addressed.

I have two and only run them hardwired to computer, or to camera occasionally. The only problem I have had is minor color rendition. You should have access to their Help folks through the software that came with the printer. They were pretty good, haven't been there in a couple of years.

Have you tried uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it as if it was new? That's my WAG. Good luck

Just a few ideas (I have no idea it will work). Remove the Ink tanks, remove and clean the print head. When the head is dry, re install it, do not reload the ink tanks. Turn it off. unplug the power and the cables. Close it up so it looks as if it just was delivered. An hour later open it up as if it was brand new If it works , terrific. If doesn't call Canon tech services. Or you might ignore the re boot and call canon

Is the printer WiFi or USB connected?

1) Unplug the USB cable and replug directly into the computer (no hub). Does the computer make the “new USB connected” sound and recognize the new USB connection? if not, try a different USB cable and a different port if the computer has more than one.
2) if so, right right click on the start button, go to settings, devices and look at printers. Does the printer show up? If so, open the print queue and print a test page. Does it show up in the queue? If so does it actually print? And this is KEY - is the printer set as the default printer? If not, set it as the default and try again. Does it print now?
3) if not, run the printer diagnostics. Does it find (and repair) any issue?
4) try to print again. If it still doesn’t print, uninstall the printer, reinstall using the printer’s installation SW and go back to #1
