The earlier one that you were looking for an ID.

You might be right on the Tree Martin. I'll have to look into it in a little it. Thanks for the look up.

See you later tomorrow, but first these...We had 2 pair of Eastern Bluebirds winter over again this year. I worked at Birds In Flight. They really are gorgeous. Can spot the male's blue from afar off.

Your Eastern Blue Birds are fabulous! I think I saw one here a few days ago, but it flew off before I could grab my camera.

What a spectacular series Leslie! Wonderful. Gotta love that emu! Of course, my favourite is the crested crane, native to East Africa. We used to call them Kavirondo cranes after a major habitat on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Many years ago now, a friend of mine was in the business of wildlife capture and trading. He received an order from an outfit in Florida for 25 of these cranes - PER MONTH! He refused it, but only because it would be too much work - thank goodness anyway! In his favour (??), he was very critical of the trade by which he lived. They are now on the endangered list over large parts of their natural habitat.

I was reading about rescue efforts just last week - read the good news story at https://www.rwandawildlife.org/saving-endangered-grey-crowned-cranes/

Another site may interest you. It deals with all cranes, but this is the Africa section

Please help Audubon friends! I have 2 pics of birds I haven't been able to identify. They were both found around lake area in southeast Kansas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First pic is a Franklin’s Gull, second is an Eastern Kingbird.

Lesley, your Falcon looks like it's pleading with you to let it go free. Sorry I couldn't help but notice the look. Great series though.
