I've been super happy with the portable, wireless Canon Pixma TR150. Very important to use the recommended Canon paper, I discovered (and select the correct option in the menu when ready to print).

I use a Canon Pixma TR8520 all-in-one.
Does nicely for me.
(Most of my prints are done by Costco.)

Printers is the culmination of you work, buy a decent printer. I find that Canon and Epson seem to make better quality printers. The printers with more different inks will give you better color reproduction.

The TR8520 will print up to 8x12.

I bought only the standard 8.5x11 paper for my Pixma. That way, I can print two 5x7's on one sheet, or a single 8x10.

For information on other sizes, click the link I provided in my first reply. If you weren't asking me, ignore this entry

There are indeed SOOOOO many printers out there. There are not SOOOO many photo printers.

Photo printers are a moving target. Consider the "Canon PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo Printer" may be at the sweet spot right now. It is available in a market with chip shortages. The price is about $250. It uses enough colors to legitimately be a photo quality, photo specific printer.

If you can wait for it, the $300 Canon PIXMA G620 printer may be better. It is a six color "tank" system instead of small cartridges. It comes with enough ink to do 3800 4x6 photos! As a bonus, it has a scanner built in. With tanks, it is reasonable to use it for "office printing" too.

I second the 8520. You can also get ink from Precision Color for it with ICC profiles.

Ink tank is the way to go. I bought an Epson ET2760 a few months ago, and the ink cost is negligible. Look online and on YouTube for info about ink tank printers.

Take a look at the Epson ECO TANK. It uses ink tanks and they last a long, long time.

Epson all-in-one printer/scanners work very well if you're going to frame with glass. The ink look great but it's water soluble.
You can get photo printers that use permanent ink but the cost is significantly higher and not necessary for the purpose you stated......
