I recognized all the locations captured in your photos as I grew up in the Albany area and spent even more time further North in the Adirondack Mtns. In fact, I spent the first 5 years of my life in a brownstone home where the South Mall Government Complex, including "The Egg", now exists.

I grew up in Albany, NY on the site of the state office complex you photographed (before the Empire State Plaza was built, of course--as a side note, we used to call it the South Mall). The first photograph of the capital was taken from about where my house used to be on Madison Avenue.
