The reason for it crashing is due to lack of ram.
How much ram do you have, found it will crash due to ram.
ON1 has added tremendous improvements since 2018. I buy new version every year at the upgrade price. Go for it. I imagine a $108/year subscription price includes ON1+ — user forum and extras such as pre-sets, sky snd texture images etc.? I have that too but find that Scott Davenport YouTube Channel has excellent training sessions for free.
Jerry I've been transitioning to ON1 for a little while with the intention of abandoning LR completely. I joined the ON1 Plus Pro (not available now though On1 Plus is) and really like the plethora of training type videos they make available for download or streaming. I don't mind the upgrade pricing (free with On1 Plus) At least I'm free to stop updating at anytime and still have use of the program contrary to Adobe's model.
I had a strange falling accident at home earlier in the week and am resting at home for a few days. Taking the time to see if I can learn a few more things and then kiss LR bye.
Happy shooting
I have been using ON1 RAW for years and I love it. I use a Windows computer with a pretty good graphics card and plenty of RAM so I have not had any problems with the software crashing (only on rare occasions) I have a good friend that is still using ON1 2010 and his work is incredible. ON1 2021 gives you the best of Lightroom and Photoshop but a lot easier to use. I give ON1 two thumbs up.

Just downloaded 2021.5 ,it's free for up to date users, also haven't had a chance to use it.
I unsuccessfully tried Luminar and ON1, and I am back to Lightroom.
Boy, I’ve been an On1 for years after moving from Aperture when Apple stopped development, from LightRoom when they went to SaaS pricing. It’s had its ups and downs. 2018 release was awful but they admitted it and fixed it. 2019, 2020 and 2021 have run quite well on my mid 2011 iMac. 2 weeks ago I replaced that with a M1 Mac Mini running Big Sur. I saw no issues so far. It's still a solid product as a replacement for LightRoom with a good Data Asset Management especially if used as browse not catalogs, a very good raw processor, some of the best effects, very portrait AI, and some great people as affiliates with great education especially in the plus program. BUT - they haven’t updated several features causing me to buy other products like Affinity Photo for any type of stacking, plus Topaz DeNoise, Gigapixel, and Sharpen. I’m very concerned with the addition of SaaS pricing something they said they’d NEVER do and lack of effort in bringing some features up to date. The latest release focused on features of almost zero interest to me.

I bought it for $55 with the discount.
Good move...I use on1 on my old Mac Pro running High Sierra. It's great software and very stable on my computer.
I have been using it and have no problems whatsoever.

I'm always tempted by offerings to update my photo software at the Upgrade price. Tomorrow is the last day to get the lower prices for On1. They are at the stage where you can buy the program outright for $100 (upgrade for $80) or subscribe for $108 annually. They must have spent some time working out the numbers for that. Another reason I'm tempted to buy is that I can buy it outright - now. Next year it could be by subscription, only. I just checked, and my newest On1 is from 2018, bought in 2019.
So, any opinions on the 201.5 version? I'll have to take my own advice and look for reviews.
