WHAT!!!
THEY DON'T!!!????!!!??
Ok. I am definitely canceling those tickets for a direct flight from Punxsutawney to Milan! Even though the in-flight meal was pizza with groundhog sausage!
As it is, there is no reason for the existing camera manufacturers to send or encourage business to a photo-software company other than Adobe. If Adobe began manufacturing cameras, Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc would be motivated to direct software business to someone other than Adobe. Plus, manufacturing a camera is probably very different from developing software. Finally, camera technology is very fluid, and who knows what a camera will look like in 5, 10 or 15 yrs. Start-up costs for a de novo camera manufacturer would be massive, with no guarantee of success.
A question that I've often asked myself is, "Why isn't Baby Oil made from babies?" I know that Corn Oil is made from corn and that Olive Oil is made from Olives. It makes sense to me.
Amazon doesn't just sell books, they have a delivery fleet for everything and a grocery store, soon to have their own drone air force too. Maybe they should make cameras instead of just deliver them.

Another thing I did not know!
I guess I will have to stop squeezing babies!
It does however, explain a lot of the odd looks I get when I visit hospitals while carrying large empty baby oil bottles.

Now Amazon may want to make cameras. Not Adobe.

If they saw a profit motive they would.
Just like Tesla makes electric cars, commercial trucks, solar roofing, whole-house batteries, their own high-speed satellite internet service, spaceships and products and services to support these main product groups. An even better example is Amazon - which does grocery, delivery systems, entertainment media, cloud storage and other web services, all sorts of product for sale, aggregator platform for a multitude of smaller vendors, Amazon Marketplace for selling previously owned goods, video and audio streaming/downloading, publishing, charity fund management, retail stores, home services like plumbing, electrical, AV installation, lawn services - just to mention a few of their offerings. All it takes is a visionary's point of view. But most Luddites - who vehemently resist any attempts to change the status quo and future proof companies through diversification, lack that capacity to think that way, fearing the risk of their tiny heads exploding from just the thought of progress/change.
Because if they wanted to expand their product line they'd start making smart phones with a camera function.

But basically Amazon is doing delivery. PERIOD. They will deliver anything. Tesla will do battery operated anything! PERIOD. That is their focus. Adobe does software. PERIOD. They have no interest in hardware.

Even is an internet genius on UHH sees the opportunity as clear as day?

They put all their resources into developing their own Covid-19 vaccine. Their chances for success in either development are basically equal. 😊

OK, maybe they have a slightly better shot at a vaccine, but I get your point!
