Well I was looking to replace my nikon D7100 and was looking on amazon website. But I did go to Best Buy to look at it. It was between the Nikon D500 and the D850. After using both just in store with my SD card I decided on the D850. Mainly because it’s full frame and I was told that if I wanted that extra reach with the zoom lens that's I all ready own which are FX lens I could put the D850 in DX mold a still have a great camera for wild life. But I told the sells person at Best Buy which I think he’s one of the few who knows what they are talking about that my main goal was take great portraits of my children.

When I bought my D7100 the only lens I would buy a FX not DX expected for the kit lens that came with it. 18-140 and I haven’t tried it yet on the D500. My lens are Nikon 50mm 1.4 D and a 1.8 D I like the 1.4 better the 60mm 2.8 D which I loved on the D7100 camera, 85mm 1.8 not D. My next lens is between the Nikon 105mm or a Nikon Zoom. What lens would you recommend next for portraits the 105mm or a zoom?

Beware of Park Ave Cameras, Willoughbys etc. I bought an 850 online that was $500 less than everyone else. I had bought from them before and got a legit camera. So two days after buying it I get a phone call telling e I bought a Chinese model. No where on their advertising, description etc did it say international model or gray market. I was more or less bullied into buying the American version for $500 more - list price from Nikon. I was pressured. Do I got it. And I was given their “warranty” which is in house to fix the camera. I wouldn’t trust them at all. Sorry but I felt really odd about the whole transaction. I won’t buy from them in the future because it was a bait and switch.

Nikon won't fix it. Nikon will stop selling parts, tools, and provide training to third party repair shop. So you can't get it fixed period.
As far as the 2 year warranty you have to read the fine prints as they might try to get out of fixing the camera for you. If they do honor the warranty and can't get it fixed they can always buy you a new one if they are honest.

No, can't get it serviced by Nikon USA. But hey, it's cheaper - go for it! Buyer's remorse notwithstanding. . .

Hopefully since the thread is five months old, the OP got whatever camera he decided on.

International warranties require that the camera be shipped to the repair center in the country it was intended to be sold. If you didn't buy it in that country, they likely won't repair it either. If this is "legitimate" (see B&H international version sales) you send the camera to the seller and they send the camera to the foreign repair center where they have registered the camera. If you trust the seller (and I wouldn't trust the one you listed), and don't mind the likely extra wait, then go ahead. Otherwise, bite the bullet and buy an authorized version.

Most Nikon Authorized Service Centers will not deal with Grey Market as they must furnish a serial number BEFORE Nikon will sell them parts. Also, Nikon will not sell parts to 3rd party repair centers, PERIOD!
This info comes from an employee of a Authorized Nikon Service Center.
