I had a pair of Sandisk cards do the same thing. The best part is they have a lifetime warranty. So I contacted Sandisk, they asked for pictures, and 3 days later I had a pair of brand new cards.

Wonderful. I’ve always wondered about “lifetime” warranties. Figured a company would say “well it’s broke, it’s lifetime is over.” It’s nice that Sandisk stands behind their products.

I carry a couple of extra cards with me in case I run into trouble. Haven't yet. I think your card falling apart is a one in a million to happen to you again, Congrats on being so lucky. LOL

You're going to glue a $20 card and trust it with possible one in a lifetime photo. WHY WHY. Thousands of dollars in equiptment and thinking of repairing a card that most likely will be replaced by manufacturer for free.
Fellow hoggers am I missing something here?
I've got another good idea, when I'm traveling for photography, I'll stop at the gas station and use the air hose to blow dust off my sensor and lens and save me $5.00 on a camel hair brush.

I have a LEXAR 64GB xqd card that split at the seams. I superglued it. I had to smooth the seam afterwards as it was slightly raised from the surplus glue and was too tight in the camera slot. It has held up for daily use for at least a year now. My 2 other cards are Sony XQDs and they have had no problems.

I might add that unlike an SD card an SD card, an XQD card isn't cheap & I found it quicker & easier just to repair it myself rather than be without it for some indeterminate time and hassle for a warranty submission.

Gluing a small piece of plastic won't risk anything.
Cleaning an expensive camera's sensor with a $5.00 brush will.
I would advise against your $5.00 brush. You will probably scratch the sensor. They make a special electrostatic brush that is a bit better when properly used. Here's a link you may want to visit.

My replacement was quick. I had to take a photo of damage and the serial # which I was unaware they had, on the back in tiny letters is the #.
I had replacement in days

Just call me Mr. Fixit or Mr. Glue. I will attempt to fix anything with nails, screws, rivets, stove bolts, cotter pins, staples, and tape. I'm on my 3rd bottle of Gorilla Glue. Oh, that is, anything but cameras and lenses. Glue on a memory card that you actually insert in a camera- REALLY? Forgetaboutit! Toss it and get a new card! If any of that stuff flakes off and gets into your camera, you'll have a repair bill that will far exceed the cost of several new cards. Imagine if the glue ain't quite dry and the card gets stuck in the slot after the glue hardens or expands.

Compare to the ongoing cost of film and even basic processing in the olden days, cards are your cheapest commodity. I keep a dozen of them on-hand and rotate them- they last for years. If there's any sign of deformation, excessive wear, damage, or poor contact in the reader- out they go. Besides potential damage to your camera, a makeshift repaired card can fail and cost you good photo ops.

You have a multi-thousand-dollar camera- you're gonna mess with a delaminated card- I hope not!

You must either be a clumsy lot, or have some pretty crappy products in the US. In over 15 years we have never had a failed CF or SD card through several cameras. I have only only personally seen a single physically failed SD card and it wasn't mine so I have no idea of the history.
I have had more problems with CF and SD cards not working in some card readers most likely because of a badly designed/implemented USB chip-set. That usually involves biffing the reader since the cards work fine in other readers.
