Nice series. Now Plymouth has followed DeSoto to the great wrecking yard in the sky.

The chrome work on the fronts of these cars is dynamic. Design studios employed people who specialized in them. All manufacturers employed vast chrome on the front of their cars. Some were stunning, some were beautiful, some were huge, all were expensive to repair! Todays cars don't employ any chrome. Thanx for sharing pages from history books.
Nice series. I remember them well (former "Detroiter")
I remember the Desoto jingle from the Groucho Marx show. “It’s delightful, it’s delovely, it’s Desoto.”

You won't find any in a new Cadillac convertible. Pity.
My mom learned to drive in a '56 Firedome, pink & white. Took a corner on 2 wheels once on the way home from Sunday school (at the bottom of a steep hill). Went through 6 sets of brakes & 3 transmission rebuilds in 3 years. Mom didn't shy away from speed, that car was fast.
