The short answer is yes. I do not use it on all photos but Sharpen AI can save those photos that are just a bit out of focus. I end up using the stabilize mode most often. My 2 favorite plugins are Topaz Sharpen AI and Denoise AI.

Depending on how much patience you have, I picked up the whole suite of Topaz products (including their 4K Video enhancer) last Black Friday for something like $250. I don't know if they ever discount that steeply outside of Black Friday, but the price was certainly right.

As most of said, yes to both but..watch the required specs. Both are the slowest apps I own so using some of the hints above will help but be prepared to go get a drink when using sharpen to apply the final touches on the entire image.

You should also try their Denoise program. I had a milky way shot that was taken at 3200 ISO, it removed about 95% of the noise. I recently took a day time shot at 400 ISO, decided to run it through the program even though there was very little noise in the picture, I was amazed on how much better the picture got. I removed the noise AND sharpened it!

I use both and find that they frequently save a slightly noisy or unsnarp image. I take mostly wildlife photos, so a little motion blur, camera shake (handheld at 500 mm), and noise (especially when I have to crop significantly due to the distance from the subject) creep into the photos. Like others, I have turned off auto update. I also have learned that I get much better results if I do not use the Lightroom or Photoshop denoise and sharpening filters. Though I do use the LR editing brush to add some local sharpening before applying Topaz Sharpen AI. I’m also impressed with how frequently Topaz updates its products, often improving the speed and performance. I post my photos on several web sites including here on UHH, usually as jpeg images, so I export those photos first then drag them to the Tooaz apps for final cleanup and sharpening. I think you will like these tools.

absolutely worth the money.
you have to experiment with 'amount' setting to find what works for Your images...but I have been more than happy with the results.

No problems at all.

General rule, sharpen LAST after you have done everything else. Other wise you are sharpening the problems.

I beg to differ with most of your respondents. I tried it in comparison with Franzis Sharpen Projects 2, which I use a lot. As I indicated in a previous post, Topaz was 50 times bigger, 50 times slower, and 3 times more expensive. The results were no better. With results like these, I didn't need to run a long test.

boy, not from what I have tested. I hated Topaz because honestly they keep fostering off beta software to get us to be unpaid guinea pigs but they finally got it right with the last updates. I own Franzis, on1, PS/Lightroom, affinity photo, Luminar, and none of them do as good a job as Topaz. But yes, they are expensive and yes they are slow but they do work.
