I purchased the Denoise a month ago and it’s really amazing. I shoot a lot of high ISO photos. Indoor sports. Is the sharpening software as good? Is it worth the $79 for just one tool? Your experiences with it are appreciated.

Short answer, in my opinion, yes Sharpen AI is worth it but look for discount codes.

Thank you. I’ve heard there are discount codes but can’t find them. Do they show up on the Topaz site?

I second that. Best plugin I have in Photoshop.

Try Anthony Morganti’s site. Believe he has a discount code.

Take a look at some Topaz third-party tutorials on YouTube. These guys often have discount codes for 10% to 15% off. I just purchased a bundle for 15% off. Will eventually be going back for more plug-ins as my hobby builds.

Sharpen AI is just amazing what it can do to rescue images. In my workflow, I do DeNoise AI first, then Sharpen AI. I always turn preview off and usually use the Stabilize button.

Yes, I'm playing with it now. Trying to figure out which button to use and when. Trying one photo with sharpen, stabilize, and focus. Not sure which does what and what's best. Guess it depends on why the original isn't sharp.

I have it and I like it, it is not as convenient as the sharpening tools in PS but in my opinion it is a bit more subtle and does a great job.

You can turn the [View] drop-down button onto 4 small square portion[original, stabilize, sharpen, focus] and move the view area to where you deem important. then select the one that pleases you mostly.
The question is which one should perform first, Denoise or Sharpen?
Would the Sharpen tool introduce some extra noise or the Denoise tool provide better image for the Sharpen tool to perform?

Wow, that tip about the <view> dropdown is great. Didn’t know that.

Meanwhile, most tutorials I have seen recommend denoise as one of your first steps in a workflow. However, I try to get the exposure in the ballpark, at least, before using it.

Not to muddy the waters, but for heavily cropped pictures (birds far away, etc.), Gigapixel AI adds back some resolution. Still playing with the best time to use it.

Be safe.
