I like them both but #2 the best, I would crop tighter and on Number 1 I would do a vertical crop

I have two cardinal photos and I'd like to send one as a 4x6 card to my sister. I know these are not up to the quality of the photos posted on UHH. I will crop one of these. If you have any other PP suggestions to improve them, I'm all ears. I have Photoshop Elements 6.

There is only three types of wine to most normal people good i like it, 2 its drinkable, 3 i cant drink this' its real bad. And then theres the so called wine snob. Who can find black berries, goose berry, lemon, straw berry, blue berry, apple , pepper , gravy, toast, mellon, etc. I make my own and its better than any bought stuff up about $30 a bottle . I never found any thing other than really good red wine in mine . I just use fresh grapes then juice them. I look at pictures the same way there is good , bad , real good.

You make a good point Bramboy. Like a good wine, there are indeed, good photographs, though not everyone will agree with everyone else. Bad photographs are bad for so many reasons, and like a bad wine, the taster will know its bad too when they taste it. The next time round though, the wine, or the photographs, will show signs of improvement - generally speaking anyway.

Encouragement from others helps to get the recipe right. All of us have started off from nothing and learned along the way. UHHers come from all the ranks of learners and the better recipes will come from the steps of learning and, particularly from encouragement from their peers.

You clearly have acquired the skills of wne making and are a good judge of a quality photograph, so you have a lot of skill to pass on to others. The sooner they learn to improve their skills, the taste of their wine and their photographs, will the sooner make every one a little happier. Don't you agree.

When i first had taken up photography in 1965. I subscribed to every photo mag. I could get, bought all the how to photog. Books.if it had anything to do with image making i got it . Read all the hoopla what makes a good photo , thirds , straght lines , curved lines . Leading eye lines , i could go on for pages. Im far away from a expert at judging a pic . But in all these years i learned one thing , i know if i like a photo, and what i like about it . It may be
Way different than other's who look at same pic . Its the same as food every one who eats has a different taste for some foods than the other guy or gal. Oyster,s and clams for instence.

Now ain't that the experienced insight that should be the reigning attitude in society, that recognition, built from experience that should, roam proud in our societies. Recognize the needs and differences and offer help to those who need it. My wife can't eat oysters for instance, now ain't that a damn shame, different tastes for everyone, as you suggest. Oysters ain't everything though, are they?

Successful Photographic shooting then, Bram boy - looking forward to seeing lots of them.

I like #1. The Cardinal is in a typical Cardinal pose, and the twig over its head and to the right is a nice complement.
