[quote=larryzplace]They can be at times... I have had to put a few down that I am sure had rabies... Staggering around foaming at the mouth... but for the most part as long as they leave my garden and garbage alone they are ok...
Contrary to popular belief, possums do not contract rabies.
Nice capture of this little marsupial.

Guess he/she got hungry... Took a ride in Busse woods the other day and was surprised to run into him/her just wandering around and eating some snow...

Thanks Jack, It sure was a surprise to me... Been quite a while since I have seen one wandering around and when i did encounter one it hissed at me...
Nice. Doesn't look bothered by your presence at all.
Thanks... Didn't seem to be bothered by the traffic on the road...

Apparently not a care at all... A number of cars passed him and he just waddled around
Thanks for your visit
As a kid in New Jersey we uncovered a “dead” one in a neighbors yard. We went to fetch the neighbor and when we brought him back it was gone! It had played possum on us.
I have never seen one in Idaho where I’ve lived the last 50 years. But a Google search says there are some.
