I wish I had paid more attention in math class. I find myself in this situation all the time.

None of my dimes has ever turned into quarters but I had a lot of quarters that turned into dimes.
Works with paper money also, particularly $100s and $10s
Those questions ALWAYS set off my BS alarm. Who - other than a pathological XXX would think of something like that?

You are missing the point! The point is, this is not meant to be a solution to a specific problem in life, but more to the point that it is intended to teach us HOW to solve life’s problems as they present themselves. It gives us practice at using the principals of logic and mathematics to solve real problems we might encounter during our travels through this vast valley of the shadow of death.

25Q - 10Q = 25D -10D + 90
15Q = 15D + 90
Q = D + 6
20 - D = D + 6
20 - 6 = 2D
Dimes = 7
Quarters = 13
