Right on, Steve!!! Next time, I'm just going to take your word for it instead of working it out myself.

You are missing the point! The point is, this is not meant to be a solution to a specific problem in life, but more to the point that it is intended to teach us HOW to solve life’s problems as they present themselves. It gives us practice at using the principals of logic and mathematics to solve real problems we might encounter during our travels through this vast valley of the shadow of death.

Thank you HOHIMER. Learning to break down a problem to "what we know" and "what we are to find" and then applying basic logic is the most useful skill learner in any math class.

Go back to the first frame of this comic. "A man has 20 coins consisting of dimes and quarters. The monetary value of these coins can change to equal more or less value but the total amount of coins is still 20.

I vote with the 7 and 13 group. Each time you swap a quarter for a dime, you gain 15 cents. 6X15=90, so you have to start with 6 more dimes.

If each conversion added 15 cents and he would up with 90 cents more, there had to be 6 conversions. Only way for two numbers which total 20 could be 6 apart is 13 and 7.
I will give it to my granddaughter and see if she can figure it out....

Who cares, take the coins to Micky D's and get a coffee and donate any left change to the "Ronald House".

I think you need to be clear what you asked Siri, and what her answer means.
More specifically, does her answer describe the original situation, or the situation after swapping coins. I think the question what things were in the beginning, and I don't think this is what Siri is telling you.
