My mom taught me if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
"dsmelts" I did consider what I gave help. When you can call and expert and have them talk thru a problem, is to me the best way to quickly, safely solve your problem.
Sorry to cross you.
leftj is correct about the manual. However if you no longer have the manual, google "canon 7D manual " and canon will provide you with a manual to download. And for that matter, a lot of other stuff that came with camera.

I have a Canon 7d and did something that I have a full grid in my view finder. It's in aperture priority with the focus single in the middle. What did I hit by accident need to remove
Thanks
Chip, Jeep Daddy gave you good advice. If you're still trying to learn how to use your expensive DSLR after 4 plus years you probably need to invest more time in learning your tools. Both of your expensive DSLRs have similar menu systems and controls. Learning sticks much longer if you combine study and hands-on. If you're looking for some sports photography advice locally you might contact Robert Dungan, he's a professional Sports Photographer based in Scotia.

Download Manualslib They have every kind of manual that you'll need. I too lost the manual for my Canon 7D and Manualslib pulled it right up.
I also keep the grid on in all my cameras that have them available... and I've replaced the focus screens with versions that had a grid in older models, where that was the only way to get the grid.
I find the grid very useful for composition... to keep horizons level, building lines vertical, etc. But, hey, that's just me. If you don't like, it's easy to turn off (page 47 of the 7D user manual, which can be downloaded for free from Canon website)...
Go into the menu>
Navigate to the "wrench" menu 2nd in from the right side>
Scroll down to and select "VF Grid Display">
Press "set" button to enter>
Change to "disable" and press "set" button again>
Navigate back out of the menu (you can just press the "menu" button to dismiss it, I think).

Head over to the viewfinder lookup screen. It looks like the top of a wrench. Click on it and a menu pops up for viewfinder display. Click on the word “ Hide”. Now you should be set.
You may want to download your user manuals onto your phone. That way you can enjoy your tuna fish sandwich without splotching the pages with excess mayonnaise. You can also pick up a PhotoBert’s Cheat sheet for your specific camera. It is a laminated one page run down on your particular camera.
As for the snide wise cracks just ignore them.

If a person can't ask questions like this on this forum, where can they ask? Or is the answer to that also in a manual? If you can't be
bothered to give a useful answer to a question ("look in the manual" or "google it" are NOT useful) then simply don't
bother answering.
People ask questions here on the assumption (an assumption which is obviously flawed given that kind of useless response) that the site has knowledgeable photographers willing to share their knowledge.
If you are not willing to share, maybe you should stay silent.

Thank you. I had asked a question about a tripod. The instruction manual wasn't in the box. After getting a rude comment, I didn't visit this site for a long time.

So, what's the answer to the question?

See amfoto1's answer above. As usual he gives useful advice without ego.

Please don't be afraid of asking questions. Us normal people cringe when fellow HGG post rude comments. They forget they had to learn as beginners. Some of the rude comments are just that rude
I'ts for the rulé of thirds.
