I assume they are in the “have their own home” category. It does not mean “own” in the sense of ownership of the dwelling.

Kind of startling, Mark. Thanks for posting.

Many of the stats do open eyes, in particular of how fortunate most of us are. That's what caused me to post it.
Thanks, Ed!!

Very thought provoking, Mark. We are indeed fortunate and should be very grateful for what we have got.

Nigel.

If I am still alive by the middle of July, I will be 89 years old. I still can walk a mile in 20 minutes and I still work in my wood shop. I am very lucky. Or maybe the
results of the care Janet, gives me!

Thanks for the posting Mark. An excellent way to succinctly demonstrate how fortunate we are. Two additional factors to consider which would further make this distinction would be to compare today vs 50 and 100 yrs ago and the type of government providing (or not) these benefits. It would really point out how fortunate we are to be alive today living in a democracy like the USA, Canada, UK, Europe etc.

Thanks again for the posting.

If there are approximately 7.8-billion people on earth and each person poops one-pound a day, that's 7.8-billion pounds of poop each day. In a year that would be 2,847-trillion pounds of poop a year. Now, add to that all of the animals on earth including the ocean and all of the poop that they contribute and we can all see why things look shitty at times!

That's one way to look at it but what it represents is nature's original recycling program and by the looks of it more and more things are being recycled into humans. And if that happens here, how fortuante they are.
