You really don't know what you are talking about. I'm not going to try and explain the sequence of events in thee camera, Slick, you probably wouldn't understand anyway. If you had any education as a camera technician, you might be credible. However. Without actually doing some troubleshooting it is not possible to deduce the exact problem. I have, however, cured this problem in many other Nikon Cameras by replacing the shutter.

Don't know who you are responding to but it doesn't matter anyway.

I have no dog in this fight, but you might like to know that Rick Riggins is a professional camera repair technician who has his own shop in the state of Colorado, and should know more about the problem than you pretend to know. When I was living in the UK, two of my colleagues had similar issues with their D750 - in each case Nikon replaced the shutter. I believe both were under warranty. I don't know about Nikon's US policy.

Recently I purchase a used Nikon D750 in excellent condition however I discovered that occasionally taking a shot the mirror will lock in the up position and the display panel will show "Err". If I then depress the shutter button the mirror will drop back down and the camera works fine until the lockup happens again sometime later. In my research I see that this is a well documented problem by D750 owners however I have not read that there is a fix and I am unable to get Nikon Support to even address the issue or whether they ever provided a fix. Just putting this out there to see if any UHHers can add any more information on the issue.

Update. Shoutout to Nikon. They told me I would have to send the D750 to them so they could inspect it. Somewhat reluctantly I did so expecting that they would be quoting me several hundred $s to repair. Two days after the camera arrived at Nikon's repair facility They advised that they had repaired the camera and were shipping it back to me. The charge was Zero! When I received the camera the repair invoice listed the following: replace shutter mechanism, replace all rubber on the body, adjust auto focus operation, check communication, clean image sensor, inspect all operations of the camera and cleaned. In short, I have a fully refurbished camera at no charge other than the cost I incurred to ship it to Nikon.
