Disclaimer-The Leica does have a small mirror used only for focusing.

I would probably go mirrorless but I’m a cranky old coot who is very resistant to change. Just kidding. I have a good deal invested in camera lenses and film and memory cards.

A camera and a lens are only tools. The camera could be one to shoot film or to shoot digital images with or without a mirror. They are all still considered as tools.
We all know that the future is mirrorless and the tendency of the big camera manufacturers is geared to that.

Like we are right now it all will depend on the photographer when it comes to making a selection. It could be a camera with a mirror or it could be a mirrorless, digital or film camera. All of them will take pictures.

I too have a film rangefinder that sadly is not a Leica. But same focusing principle. I also have two 4x5" cameras a studio rail and a folding wooden field camera. No mirrors at all there.

I like Fujifilm's solution for some models of having hybrid EVF and OVF.

After reading the above comments, I decided to go and take an honest look at myself in the mirror. To my horror, I realized that I had gone mirrorless years ago.

The rest of us which are in the majority agree with you…folks in different (or no) camps are still camping successfully…they're just camping differently…and we know that camping is successful despite not being in the "only my camp is good" category.

Some folks like tents, some 5th wheel RVs, some class A RVs, some state parts, some out in the deep woods, some in resort campgrounds. It's still camping no matter which way you do it.

I've noticed that those in the "One True Camp" category tend to have pithy posts with supposedly deep psychological meaning that the rest of us are just to deplorable to understand and comprehend.
Only a few of are locked into one and only one cam... (show quote)

I am in the happy camper camp sight. Hope all of you are as well

We humans seem to all have an need to be right, an understandable requirement for survival.
But for many it seems to go well beyond that, I have a relative that if shown to be wrong on anything, even trivial, stops talking to you for months or more.
Yesterday, anti-vaxers shutdown a site in CA, if they do not want to get the shot that is one thing, but harassing others who do?
I have long felt that many needed factors to be a functioning human get overly expressed in others due to genetics? or environment, etc. Everything, like intellegence, exists on a bell curve, it is just as detrimental to have an IQ of 30, as an ego that means you can never be wrong.

I just purchased a Canon R6. It does 20FPS and has unbelievable eye and face recognition focusing. That's why I did it. Advancement in technology will come in the form mirrorless not mirrored cameras. The new Sony Does 30 FPS. That's 30 moments in one second time. What's next?

Dang, I just dumped a boatload of cash for a D500 and a Nikon 105 prime. Now I'm stuck with that trash.

Since Nikon doesn't make a 115 prime so I think it's trash.

Cameras are tools that photographers use and should fit the task.

Large format is great and fun to work with but try to carry one on a 5-Day winter backcountry journey in mountainous terrain on deep snow while wearing snowshoes.

I’ll choose to carry a light weight modern mirrorless in that situation.

Hello!!!! is this not a CAMERA????
Some of my best photos were taken with this.
2 1/4X 3 1/4
A true gem.
Even has an auto iris.
I'm not saying I have taken a lot of excellent photos, but this is a great camera and fun to use.

Wonderful. You should use it more often.

There's a photographer, Joshua Paul, who travels the Formula 1 circuit that uses one similar to this one.
