The Price is $6500. Now how much can they lower the price if they take out some features like:
1. Video.
2. AF
3. High frame rate, let it goes down to 1fps.

Perhaps not much if any?

Dear BebuLamar...It has been my experience that large corporations manufacturing thousands of units to be sold all over the world cannot make each unit have the features that one customer wants. They make all of the units contain what they estimate the most customers want, so that they can make a profit. Hope that helps you.

I meant if Sony would introduce a model without those features how much can they sell them for and still make profit? I guess the same price if not even higher.

I'm waiting to see what Sony's supposedly Full Frame Bridge Camera (RX-xx) looks likes, at least it might be in my 'affordable' range.

I would pay for a firmware update that would add some of the key features of the A1 to my A7R4, assuming its possible. At least Sony would get some of the money they otherwise won't get.

I don't believe many amateur photographers or even frugal pros are ready to shell out $6500.

That's not their target market.
Sony has 5 more cameras being announced in the new year. This tech will be parsed out to each models strengths...for the amateur market.

They have done it before at no charge.

Really? I'm assuming your car is worth a lot more and you drive it around in traffic daily.

Thanks Joe! I was very fortunate to witness an incredible aurora display as well as the polar bear moms and cubs though it was one of the hardest trips I have ever done. The cabin we stayed had no running water though it had heat and we had bunk beds, 4 to a room! Plus it was bitter cold. Not sure how cold, but with the wind you could barely stay outside.

Absolutely dazzling⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks Joe! I think the gear we have is important but the place(s) we go, the guide we have and luck is often more important than having the latest gear.

If you mean firmware updates...they are free of charge...but Sony probably doesn't do it as much as Canon does.
But I suspect for the latest generation of high-end Sonys out there right now...yes, something will trickle down.

I am quite familiar with Mark Smith, I follow him on Instagram and Youtube. I believe most of his incredible video is shot using the Sony A7SIII? How does the Sony alpha 1 compare for video? One day I plan to rent a Sony camera and lens to try out though hoping Nikon's next mirrorless gets closer to Sony's.
The money people spend for their gear always amazes me (myself included as someone who helped pay their way through college by delivering Newsday on LI). I bought my most expensive lens (a 500mm f/4G VRII for about $8,000) for a once in a life-time trip a number of years ago for polar bear moms and cubs coming out of their dens (a very expensive trip itself). To get the additional reach, I used a DX body. The woman photographing next to me said she was a professional photographer and she had the Nikon 800mm f/5.6 which had just come out (maybe around $20,000 then) on a full frame body. I never did see her photos but was glad I had spent the money for the 500mm f/4 since the bears didn't come out till dusk:

Thanks Joe! I was very fortunate to be able to see and photograph the cub and the mom leave their den for the trek to the Hudson Bay to find some seals to eat. Additional photos from this trip are on my flickr site if you are interested:

It's an impressive camera but I won't buy it even if I win the lottery and the $6500 is chump change. In many ways I don't like it.

What is blackout?
