Release the mouse button after selecting the reference point. Press it when the cursor lies over the area you wish to clone. The software remembers the reference point for the clone operation.
Note: Under the Edit menu, you may wish to set the Stroke to 3 pixels (from the default setting of 1 pixel). Selecting the reference point then involves 9 pixels (3x3 pixels) instead of a single pixel. The clone operation will use an average of the 9 pixels for the reference area.

Can anyone advise me on what has gone wrong, and how to cure it please ?
The problem is with CS6. I'm working on a photo, and am trying to clone out some background. On selecting the ref point (Alt/Left click), and then trying to move to the point to clone over, the whole image moves. It was working OK yesterday, and I suspect I must have done something to it, but I don@t know what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
