LOL. What a thin skin you have.

Say what you like - you can’t offend me. It says a lot about you that you make comments like that. Very trumpian indeed.

You could read up on that too.

Those pesky farmers stipulated that the District (at that time) should NOT EXCEED more than 10 square miles.
Just take a guess at how big DC is...

I take it you're of the mindset that those pesky farmers did not want EVERY American to have representation.

Ever since the very first time you responded to one of MY comments here, you have trolled.
Not ONCE have you added to the comments or provided anything BUT snide remarks.

I find it strange that some people see the framers of The Constitution as god-like and view the document so biblically. The thing was written more than 200 years ago and has been amended many times to adapt to changing circumstances. That is what amendments are for. Perhaps instead of clinging to outdated tenets it’s time for a few more amendments.

The first change I would suggest is requiring all presidential candidates to undergo a psychiatric test and a security screening. Trump would have failed both.

Let me beg to differ from this supposition: "unchallenged power" of Democrats. If nothing else, the judicial branch of government can stand in the way of both other branches. We have already seen this power center reject the move by Biden to stop the due deportations of illegal migrants, in response to a lawsuit from the State of Texas -- just as happened under Trump.

Let us keep in mind also that the courts rejected some 60 lawsuits filed by Trump regarding the operation of the national election.

I note one other example: Chief Justice Roberts has declined to preside as judge for the second trial of Trump in the Senate, even though the Constitution specifies this role for the Chief Justice. As a result, some now maintain that constitutionally, no trial can take place unless he presides over it. The Democrats never foresaw this turn of events and its meaning.

We may suppose the Chief Justice sees an unworthy article of impeachment out of the House of Representatives. This indirect check on the power of the House provides an additional illustration of the checks and balances structure of U.S. government. Government 101.

He has opened a commission to study packing the court, how do you think that will go? A bill has been introduced in the Senate to make DC a state, will they not need a liberal SCOTUS for that to stand up to a constitutional challenge? Then you have the EO's many of which will be challenged in court, will he not need to pack the court to fully implement his agenda?

Democrats are dirty not to mention authoritarian in nature, they have a short window until the 2022 elections to exact this unchallenged power, if they are successful in killing the filibuster there will be nothing standing in their way and they will make change in this country that will justify the security needs they seem to imagine that they currently need in our country's capital.

Exactly! I keep seeing "we" rate so and so biased. Who the heck are WE? Oh yeah! It's the same "WE"
that burned and supported the burning of cities last summer and fall and now support putting all
conservatives in re-education camps for deprogramming. I guess the next step if deprogramming fails will be the ovens! What a bunch of BS! Good luck with that!

Of course democrats are dirty too. We don’t need more seats on SCOTUS and the only reason they want to do away with the fillibuster is so they can push through anything they want.

None of this is for the good of the country but for their party’s power. Large quantities of pasty white kool aid is being consumed.

Biden has repeatedly said he is against eliminating the filibuster. None of the last four years was for the good of the country. trump and his Congressional supporters put trump first, then party and then country. What makes it worse is the republicans continue to cower to trump.

The republican party is self-destructing when they fail to address January 6th and tolerate Reps like Boebert and Greene. The reason troops remain in Washington is easily explained by yesterday's warning from Homeland Security warning the public about the growing threat of attacks by “ideologically-motivated violent extremists.”

You find it strange that the Constitution is the oldest living document of political freedom in world history?

I can see that coming from you. Why aren't we like the rest of the world in their miserable Socialist, Communist, Authoritarian states? We need to be more like them.

So now we can believe what Biden says just like you do?

Didn't Biden say that passing Exec. Orders was akin to being a dictator? He has now passed over 40 in his first week in office, 10 times as much as Trump, 20 times as much as Obama.

Biden said he would have a new plan to fight the virus. The Biden campaign’s widely reported promises of a new, superior COVID-19 plan turned out to be more of the same old, same old from the Trump Admin. Biden announced during his first few hours in office: “There’s nothing we can do to change the trajectory of the pandemic in the next several months.” For the first time, we now learn that there is “nothing” Biden can do about COVID-19?

Biden mandated the wearing of masks on all federal property. But he then immediately undermined his own order during the first few hours on the job by going mask-less during a photo op at the Lincoln Memorial.

Biden said he would not eliminate fracking but would build back better. On his first day in office he eliminated up to 11,000 good paying jobs in the energy industry with the stroke of a pen during the depths of a pandemic when people are hurting.

Yes, Biden has repeatedly said things that only you believe.

That you don't believe him is no surprise. What does surprise me is that this post of yours is more moderate than your typical BS. It's still misleading and incorrect but that's the new normal.

You know by now that the of jobs eliminated by axing the Keystone pipeline are less than 500, but yet you still promulgate the fake news lies.

As for # EO’s, trump wins so far. Trumps executive orders were to undo Obama’s EOs and Biden is undoing trumps EOs. It’s a disastrous pattern created out of the McConnell do nothing Senate for the past 12 years. The house sent over 400 bills that didn’t get submitted to the senate floor for debate. Congress is broken and needs to be fixed to eliminate the EOs.

https://www.ksl.com/article/50096923/presidential-history-who-signed-the-most-executive-orders

From then versus now
Of five presidents before Biden, George H.W. Bush ordered the fewest at 166 in his one term, followed by Trump (220), Obama (276), George. W. Bush (291) and Bill Clinton (364). Of those five, Trump — who also served one term — had the most executive orders per year in office at 55, but that is still nowhere near the average of the presidents in the first half of the 20th century.

It shows that executive actions are again a hot-button issue, but they aren't quite as prevalent as they used to be.

Given his advanced age and the 2022 midterm elections looking to put Republicans back in control of the legislative branch, Biden has only so much time to impose his political projects. He has the judiciary to contend with as well.

Further, Biden likely will not run for re-election -- if he even makes it that far. We may suppose he knows his limit. This potential explains the hurry of Biden to institute his big plans.

Unity will not come, despite Biden's efforts.
