Nicely defined details in the red. How does it print?

Thank you.

Huh? Print? - that would mean I have to get the cover off the printer, dig the paper out of the stack of magazines etc. etc. etc.
Maybe I'll try it later. Not being able to actually go to the Senior citizen's center photo club since last Feb I don't really do any printing. Just once a week or so doing the cleaning and print one of those special test print subjects to keep the Canon Pro-100 printer from fossilizing. That is also a way to get my money out of the 8x10 no name paper I got from Costco in 2019, 100 sheets x once a week, I should use it up by Labor Day. I will also use up the rest of my Precision Colors refill kit inks and then replace them with their new premium inks they brought out in early 2020. Jose Rodriguez the printing guru on You Tube really likes the new ink formulas that PC brought out. Where he rated the old formula as very good compared to OEM he seems to think the new ones are a bit better than Canon when you calibrate your printer right and use the right paper. And a whole lot cheaper.

The reason behind my comment is that 1) I tend to think that the final test of an image is the print, and 2) reds frequently print as a blob with little to no detail (at least on my printer). So for me, getting a really bright, pretty red to print with detail is the goal.

Oh, OK.
Yes, if I want blobs I can use spray paint or give a pint of finger paint to our Niece's granddaughter. HUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH? We are old enough that our Niece has a granddaughter!!!!!! When in the name God's big blue and white marble did that happen?

I bought a macro Ring Light from fellow UHH member WF2B in July and the spirit finally moved me to do some macro. So to test it I put my 100 mm f/2.8 macro on my 5DIV. Mounted the Ring Light flash, took one shot of my paper weight on the desk to make sure the batteries I put in were good and went out in the yard. This was my first subject. I'll post more later, I may stretch them out for the weekend.
5DIV, Canon 100 f/2.8 Macro, 1/160 @ f/11, ISO-400
hand held with Ring Flash on lens at 4PM so the flash did not have sun light to compete with
