You've got some very nice shots with that TC, Mike. They are getting much better but aren't cheap. I've got Olympus gear and have both the Olympus 1.4 and 2.0 TC's. They can only be used on certain of their Pro level lens and I have found them to be amazing. I realize that in lab testing and at the pixel level one would find degradation, but for normal viewing and cropping levels, not an issue IMO. Try some test shots on a stationary subject with hair-level detail.

I decided to get a 1.4 TC (tele-converter) for my Sony 100 - 400 GM lens. The 2.0 is a bit soft and I wanted something sharper.

Attached are the first shots with that TC that I have finished processing from my visit to my local lake.

Downloads are always the best way to view this set.

Looks good Mike

Great captures Mike. I hardly ever use my TC and you’ve inspired me to do so.

I was not sure whether this would work, but I am happy with the results, Mark.

I appreciate that comment. That shot was a quick snap shot that caught about 15 of them and is an extreme crop.

Thanks, John, as mentioned in a response above, I took a very quick snap shot at a flock going over. I ended up with about 15 geese and the final product is an extreme crop.

I appreciate the comment, John. I find my 2.0 has to have excellent light and little motion. This one reacted very well to my spastic pointing and shooting.
