I decided to get a 1.4 TC (tele-converter) for my Sony 100 - 400 GM lens. The 2.0 is a bit soft and I wanted something sharper.

Attached are the first shots with that TC that I have finished processing from my visit to my local lake.

Nice work, Mike. I've never liked TC's but it looks like they are getting better. And I'm sure the 1.4 is sharper than the the 2.0 And you said that you weren't a bird photographer!

Really good series, Mike! I got the 1.4 converter a couple of months ago and it has hardly left the setup. Enjoy it!

What was your focus point on the very first shot of the seagulls? It looks like you are focused on the tail feathers of the front gull facing away from the camera. Otherwise pretty nice shots.

In that first shot, I just pointed the camera toward the bunch because they were in shade. I then adjusted the ISO to better see my subjects.
