I'd love to make some suggestions, but what kinda work are you doing? There are many kinds and of "flash units", camera-mounted Speedlights, studio lights, mono lights, units that work on power-packs, different power levels and a variety of features and accessories. Of course, there are many brands and models. Some are compatible with your camera's TTL exposure control system and many price points.
Furnish this information and you will get many replies.
The one I use the most on my D850 and D500 is the Godox V1n. They are a bit pricey for a 3rd party flash, but worth the extra $$.
I have two D500's and a Nikon SB-700 and SB-5000. The SB-5000 is Nikon's top flash and has radio control when used with WR-A10/WR-R10. It also has a repeating mode for stroboscopic photos. The SB-700 is a little more compact but is almost as powerful as the SB-5000.
I have a Bolt, bought from B & H. Super flash.
The first thing that has called my attention is that you are using an excellent Nikon body and instead you have fitted it with third party lenses. Not that I have something against those lenses but Nikon DX lenses were specifically made for your camera. You can also use FX lenses.
Regarding a flash for your camera I am going to say that the Nikon SB-600 works to perfection with the D500 and in the second hand market you can buy a like new one for little money.

Check your user's manual for the recommended units. All you will get here are biased opinions. For what little it's worth, my own biased opinion is that, of all the third party units available, Metz is a top brand. Among the lower priced flashes, Sunpak and Vivitar have impressive track records. I have no experience with any other brands.
I have the Godox TT685N along with Godox X2T wireless trigger.

And the 685 is a good choice at $110.
I use the SB-600 and SB-800.

"...I'd love to make some suggestions, but what kinda work are you doing?" Any one attempting to provide meaningful guidance wouldn't likely respond until they know what your "perceived" needs are...
Yet over a dozen have chimed in attempting to sway you to what they feel is best, likely to justify their own possibly questionable choices.... In my humble estimation UHH is not an ideal place to find guidance... My best advice is to assist commercial shooters working in the genera you seek to shoot in... Commercial photographers who have to pay the bills with their imagery typically have a rather solid understanding of industry standard kit.
Final thought SENG.... The D500 is somewhat crippled for want of a built in flash to serve as a CLS Commander... And a compelling reason why I choose a pair of D7200's instead...
Albeit the D500 has a great frame rate and AF system, totally ideal for those who love to spray and pray...
Please stay safe SENG, always wear a mask in public space and practice social distancing...

I've had an SB-700 for years and have used it on all my Nikon DSLRs. D90, D7100, D7200 and D500.
