I am a Photoshop & DXO PhotoLab user - but before you buy try the FREE program called GIMP - it does almost everything most users need. I have used it on many occasions in the past - it is fully documented.
It is multi-platform it works on os-X and WIN.
Nothing to lose - delete it if you do not like it after trying it.

For me Paint Shop Pro was the easiest to learn, been using it a long time now, does everything I need, YMMV, Bob.
I was going to suggest the same thing. Photoshop seems to me to be much harder to learn though it also seems more capable; the auto-fill capabilities with it are pretty amazing and there are other features for more controlled filling. With Photoshop one should add some budget for some course work.
Amazon also has it for $69.99 + sales tax. Search for it as "photoshop elements software" to go directly to it.
Try DarkTable and GLIMPSE (formerly GIMP) as a (free) substitute for LRc and PScc.
Take a look at PS Elements 20; or Affinity. Both good at all those functions and the price is right.

That is exactly the opposite suggestion of what the OP was asking for. As an avid
darktable user and on occasion GIMP if there is a need, I can attest that they are not easy programs to just "jump" into and use. Darktable, in my opinion, is pretty amazing and very in-depth, but it's not for everyone. Therefore shouldn't just be thrown out in every discussion just to get name recognition.
I would say the same about recommending Photoshop and maybe Lightroom, but I don't have experience with Lightroom and last used Photoshop over a decade ago.
