That is sad.

Send it to me and get unsaddened.

I should have added, NO FINE TUNING EVER REQUIRED. And, it is one sharp lens.

I have the Z6 II (as well as the Z6 and Z7), and the weight factor is really dependent on what lens you attach to it. You are talking about 24.87 oz for the Z6 II versus 34.57 oz for the D810 and if you attach the FTZ adapter to the Z6 II you add 4.8 oz so the weight savings is negligible. After all of the couple of oz that you save you are liable to attach a heavy lens which changes the weight distribution. Even the premier S lenses are heavy, I have the 24-70 f2.8 S and the 70-200 f2.8 S and they are quite heavy.

Your 810 to Z6 isn't a big change. I have a Z7 and it's certainly a smaller lighter body but because it's still FX format the lenses are the same and in the end it's the lenses more than the body that account for all the bulk and weight. As a result I more frequently grab my Fuji XT-4. The 16-55mm f/2.8 on the Fuji is still big glass with a constant aperture and it seems more solid than the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8. At 8 oz. less weight it's substantially smaller. But then I also have the good old Fuji 18-55mm f/2.8 - 4. I'm now down to half the size of the Z7 with lens and nearly half the weight. That's a difference I really feel. The Z7 is my least used camera.

Nikon Z7 with 24-70mm f/2.8 = 54.5 oz.
Fuji X-T4 with 16-55mm f/2.8 = 46 oz.
Fuji X-T4 with 18-55mm f/2.8 - 4 = 29.5 oz.

So what about a m4/3 camera and everything shrinks some more? I haven't told you yet about my most used camera. I had to take some photos today. I grabbed my most used camera as usual because it usually get's the job done -- a 1" sensor Canon G7 compact that fits in my jacket pocket. I use it a lot because it fits in my pocket.

your "mistake" is using the f2.8 24-70 versus the much lighter f4 24-70 do you really need the extra stop considering how good these cameras are at higher ISO????

Why not try a monopod that has small feet on the bottom before you sell you gear

Wouldn’t that just add to the weight of the whole kit ... except acoarst at the actual moments of exposure ?

You will find that the monopod weighs in at most two or three pounds

I’m not a fan of the much heavier and expensive f2.8 lenses but it is my understanding that the fans claim higher image quality and better bokeh.

My Z6 is awesome at high ISO. And my Z50 is considerably better than its predecessor D5600.

Yes the Z50 is a finer camera than the 5600 but why the two, slow f6.3 cheap lenses.

The z50 is a very nice DX mirrorless camera. Light, about the same weight as my D3400.,But unless you use the Z lenses there really is no weight savings over even the lightest DSLR.

Just remember with a SLR you are looking through the lens. With a mirrorless you are looking through a small sensor.
I will stick with my DSLR cause what you see is what you got.

You have it backward.
With mirrorless you see exactly what you are going to get.
Change exposure, aperture...the image changes accordingly.
You also get a plethora of info laid out before you.

I also have a Z50 with the 16-50mm & 50-200mm and the FTZ adapter. It is a GREAT LITTLE camera. It is a DX camera but takes GREAT pictures. I have used it to shoot HS Basketball with a f2.8 24-70mm FF lens. Took GREAT shots under the basket. I plan to leave most of my heavy stuff home and go on our next vacation with it and it's lenses. Take a long look at it. I am 75 and the heavy stuff is getting to be a little too much. Am looking at a Z6II with a Battery grip and extra batteries (the batteries in the new cameras don't take as many pictures) to replace the D500 I just sold and will start the transition to Z lens as I sell off some of the DSLR lenses. Will still keep my D5 & D810 with a grip. Good luck in your search for a new camera.

A Z6 will fit the bill nicely.

I have the Z6. It is true if you use your old lenses and adapter you won’t save much weight. The Z lenses are lighter, though. The new 24-200 is awesome.

But if you really want to save weight the Z50 is awesome. Almost pocketable with 16-50 DX lens. I find myself grabbing it more often than my Z6.

You mostly control both of them with the touch screen. I have no issues with wheels.

The Z50 is also much less expensive than the Fuji XT-4 that somebody else suggested, and the Z lenses are generally better.

Your currently shooting Nikon, you will be right at home with a Nikon Z. Z cameras have the same feature set as their DSLR's.
