Don't ever think you weren't appreciated by those who were there with you. We all loved the corpmen and the dust-off pilots!

I really, really, appreciated the corpman who saved my life, but I gotta say that the flight nurse on the Medivac Air Lift was much prettier. He was wearing mud, she was wearing perfume.

I always figured you Fly Boys had it pretty good!Sounds like you made the smart move over to Air Force when the Army Air Corps was secured.I can't complain about the chow in the blue water Navy (Never did get use to stewed okra thought) it was so much better than the C Rats I was getting in Nam I thought I was in pretty good shape getting cold milk and ice cream and hot chow three times a day

I thought it would be of interest to the Veterans who are members of UHH to have a place to post what Service they were in , what there MOS (Mode Of Service) was ,and when and where they served. My guess is there are quite a few Veterans both young and "seasoned" that use the site.
Suggest we try to keep politics out of the thread. We all served our Nation and that is our common bond.

All Veterans of all Eras both men and women tell us who you were with and where you served.

I served in the US Navy 1969-1972 as a Gunners Mate. Did a tour in Nam as a twin .50 cal bow gunner on PBR's (Patrol Boats, River) '69-'70. My Unit was River Division 594, part of Task Force 116. Most of our ops were up along the Cambodian boarder. Finished up doing sea duty on The USS Ticonderoga, an old WWII vintage flat top. I made E-3 twice. Adherence to Military Discipline was not my strong points.

God Bless America and those who defend Her ,Past, Present and Future.

OK who's next?
I thought it would be of interest to the Veterans ... (show quote)

This has been, and continues to be a very inspiring thread. It it beautiful to feel the pride and connection so many still have to their Service and their Units.
As tomorrow is Veterans Day I wanted to say thanks to all who have "Mustered" on to the thread. I wish all of you and your families and loved ones a great day and hope you fully enjoy the blessings of freedom your service to our Nation has help to ensure.
And to our Marine Corps Brothers and Sisters a Happy 236th Birthday!
