So glad this was on here. I am thinking about buying this lens and have been researching. But nothing like getting my answer from someone who owns it. I have a D5oo also and mainly use my 70-200 for everything. Do you shoot yours handheld? And would it be fast enough for some sports? I was considering the 80-400 but from what I've read this one would be better. Thanks

I shoot all pictures handheld once in awhile on a windy day I will use my wife’s shoulder
on long shots.

Well, it is for me. First and foremost, I cannot afford the high dollar prime Nikons. Secondly, my needs are modest. I post some wildlife images on social media and place a few 16x20 canvas photos on my wall at home. Occasionally, not often, I will enter an image in a contest. This is an image @ 500mm, 1/200, f5.6, ISO900

beautiful shot of that handsome buck.
