Thanks for the compliment. So much of getting a good shot like this is out of our hands, wind gusts, atmospheric distortions, etc. I was lucky that night because the wind was non-existent and the sky was clear. I was shooting almost straight up, so I also avoided a lot of atmosphere. My gear was my trusty D500 and a relatively new Nikon 500mm PF f5.6, which is a fantastic lens. I also credit my rock solid support gear, a 5-series Gitzo tripod and a RRS BH-55 ball head. I used to have ball heads that slipped, which drove me crazy and obviously were not up to the job. For settings, I use manual mode and ISO 100 and I just play with the exposure and shutter speed as seems appropriate. This shot was a 1/320 second at f13, but that was after a bunch of different tweaks, not planned in advance. I used Live View focusing.
For post-processing, I use LR Classic, and run everything through Topaz DeNoise AI. I may have notched up the sharpness and contrast a tad, but nothing extreme.
Best of luck with your next moon shots!
