Very nice, Bill. You captured the mood of the scene very well.

Short of renting, the Z50 was a pretty inexpensive way to test the mirrorless waters. I bought it with the 16-50 kit lens and FTZ adapter, and I'm learning how it works and what's different conpared to a DSLR. This shot (using the FTZ and a 24-120 F mount lens) isn't the prettiest landscape, but had the major advantage of being about 5 minutes from my home.

The Z50 has surprisingly good ergonomics for being so small, and I love being able to see the actual exposure in the EVF. Having used Nikons since my first digital camera, the menus and shooting experience are very familiar. So far so good, and I have to say it's a lot of fun shooting with this little camera.

Bill, excellent photo and like I just told Cany a DDL really shows of the details. I love the reflextions on the water and the ducks become clear and everything is sharp.

Thanks Greg - I appreciate your very nice comments. I really had no idea as to the image quality I would get with the Z50, but so far I'm pretty happy. I'm now thinking about whether I should try one of the Z lenses on this, and if yes which one.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!

Nice! I like this picture—I have one similar that was made in Dec last year on a golf course in San Antonio and again in the Spring to see different colors. I used my iPhone 7 Plus. I am familiar with its limitations but I use several post-editing apps to experiment with to enhance the picture to look the same as my old Canon AV1 with the many lenses and filters I had. The Vivitar 70-200mm was my favorite lens—it was heavy to handle but I took some awesome pictures in Italy, Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Unfortunately, most of the picture albums and framed pics “went missing” from my household goods shipped back to the States. Luckily, I carried the camera bag and attachments with me on the plane, which I still have including the lenses, sitting in the closet. Tried to have the camera fixed but it cost too much. Tried to sell the lenses and filters but I lost interest in photography until I retired in TX and when the iPhone technology was in full swing, my son gave me his iPhone 6 and later his 7 plus as he upgraded (he worked at Best Buy). I now love iPhone photography bc it’s “ever ready” and I can take lots of photos of the same scene and store them in the Cloud. I’m constantly reviewing them and making changes bc it’s relatively cheap!

From that one image, it looks like the Z50 combined with the 24-120mm F lens did a very good job. I will be interested to see more photos from you as you use the camera. I am a Nikon shooter as well, a D800, but as of yet have not decided to get into the MILC field.

Thanks Jim - I'm glad you liked it. Have you posted the San Antonio Golf Course photo on UHH? I'd love to see it. My son-in-law uses a recent model iPhone, and I'm always amazed at how good the images look. He took some sunrise shots on Island Beach that looked great when we made 12x18 prints of them.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy 2021.

I have become accustomed to the feel of a DSLR in my hands (started with a SLR) and cannot see myself using a smaller mirrorless camera. That is not to say your photo is a keeper. Very good results and that is the desired end product. If the camera does the job you want, then it is appropriate and proper. Keep shooting and enjoy the new camera.

I think it’s a nice shot too. Sometimes it’s just nice to have something new, perhaps it gives you inspiration. Happy New Years😀

Glad you like the Z50 and give it a good review. However, I give credit to you for this fine example of a photographer that knows what they are doing.
